Okay, I want to lower the car for sure, but I don't want the car to ride rough (I'm 48 and like a smooth ride). Any thoughts?

im sencing a contradiction here, the reason you buy springs is for a stiffer ride, and struts to stiffen the strain even further. The only route for what your talking about is hacking off some of your current OEM spring

Ford 'B' springs for you. Lowers the ride, yet doesn't punish you to death. It rides kinda like stock. The 'C' is a bit harder, and most prefer it. I like the 'B' myself. Right now I have some Steeda Sport springs, and any of the Steeda springs will beat you to death. Get the 'B' springs.
If you want slammed to the ground, the Sportlines are rough riding, but I like them better than the Intrax springs. I haven't tried out H&R, Roush, or Saleen stuff.

Look at the spring rates. The lower spring rate will be less stiff over bumps and more butt friendly.

The Ford "B" springs DO look like a good choice. I'd like a little more drop than shown in the chart but since my car is a convertible, I assume it will drop a little more because of the extra weight. Spring rates look good, and I WAS looking for a variable rate spring too. So what's the best place to buy them?
