1991 5.0 LX: Need thoughts and opinions

Hey all. I'm new here, but been on 94/95 section for a long time.

I'm interested in buying a second Mustang and I've seen a Fox that looks perfect.

Here's what I know so far about the car:

1991 5.0 LX convertible
less than 40K miles
interior/exterior is perfect
underbody is very clean (wheelwells are spitshine clean)
engine is bone stock
several options from factory were installed
automatic tranny (don't know crap about this) :)

My two questions:

1. Can anyone provide some info or links about this car, cause I know nothing about it except that it might be real similar to my 94 GT (8.8 rear, 5.0, exhaust)?

2. What would a car like this be worth? Blue Book doesn't do it justice, cause this car really is in perfect condition.

My 94 will still be a work in progress and will see a new 347 in a year or two. The Fox will be more of a weekend car for day trips and casual driving. If I buy it, I'm going to add MM subframes, MM K-member brace, and MM STB. All fluids will be replaced and a tune-up will be done (just gotta be sure everything is clean inside).

My wife really wants me to get this car and do what I want to it, as long as it is not as agressive as what is going to happen to my other stang.

Can't thank you enough for any info.

Oh yeah........I might buy this Fox next weekend. :)

I wouldn't get a vert, if I didn't have the coupe. I just don't want to find out that everyone but me knew that the 91 5.0 LX was a bad model. Don't want to find myself regreting the car (price is not really an issue). I've always wanted a convertible so why not a pushrod Mustang. :)

I'm gonna test drive it later this week.

This car will never see the track or road course, but will see a few basic mods while keeping a totally stock look.

The AOD is real slushy. You will need a "least" a high speed stall. Gears would compliment it, even if you only got 355's. But a converter is a must!

Welcome to this side of the boards. I paid $5800 for my '88 with 37k miles, in the condition you described. I would say the one you're looking at is definitely worth close to $10k. There's nothing at all wrong with that year, it is probably one of the most desireable. I agree that a shift kit or valvebody, gears, and a verter for the aod would be a must. If the car is what you're looking for, and in excellent condition, go for it :nice:

Sounds like you found yourself a really nice car man, I say go for the vert! I got mine for a steal of a deal. Just out of curiosity, what are the color options on it?

It's dark green with gray interior and a gray top. It also has 16" wheels which look real nice.

The straight tailpipes were a nice surprise to see because they're similar to my 94 GT.
