1911 Colt .45's are such a simple design.

I took it apart and cleaned it today for the first time and then decided to time myself. On my 4th or 5th try I got 51.375 seconds. And that taking it apart AND putting it back together, pulling the slide back to ensure proper operation, and setting the hammer back to the proper position.

I can never get that stupid little ring to line up with the holes in the slide so that I can put the pin back through. That's ususally the only hang up I get.

They are hard to take apart compared to a glock. First couple times I cleaned my 1911 it was a pita to get back together. Now it isn't to bad.

Nice Para-Ordiance P14 you got there. For the money, you won't find a better 1911 out there and they blow their more expensive Kimber counterparts out of the water.

It was made by Ithaca Gun Co. in Ithaca, NY.
