Boost-a-pump

mine is here, cause i don't wanna mess with it :) & in case you don't recognize where that is, it's behind the trunk paneling

Thats how mine is you don't have to use the hobs switch. That way you don't have the spikes and dips.

I'm running my BAP in between the inertia switch and the FPDM (fuel pump driver module). I then have hobbs /boost switch hard wired together so its always on. The I run the rich/lean switch wide open. So its always on and full blast all the time.

If the fuel pressure is to much, the ECU detects it, and cuts the power being sent to the FDPM. Which allows the ECU to control the BAP output by varying the volts sent to BAP and FPDM.

If you hook it up after the FPDM you have to hook up the hobbs switch and it takes longer for Ecu to detect the pressure change and that's the reason for the spikes and dips.

Here's a thread about it.

Please insert modular depot in one word for the link to work. gezz

yeah, definately not safe.

i pegged my Focus pump at 423 & tim even set the limiter lower until i could get it taken care of. Then I was going down to MPH to pick up some suspension pieces. Well I got on it getting on the interstate & it flashed a SES light so I took it easy the rest of the way down. Igot there & we tested it & it turned out that it was a low fuel rail pressure light.

tim - you're going to blow it up that way
me - so um yeah, do you all have any BAP's in stock?
tim - yup

*Rhonda rings me up & I install it in the parkign lot*

I'm running a BAP on a 400rwhp GT with a stock pump. It is running lean now, so the pump is failing. My SVT Focus pump is on the way, and that, in conjunction with the BAP will give me the needed fuel all the time.

Your not driving it that way are you?

Yea for now I am. The thing is it only maxes at about 5.6k rpms and I only take the car to 6k. We checked everything over and I didnt lose any fuel pressure so Im "good". Im still pretty easy on it 99% of the time any way though. Plus I should be getting the Cobra Tank and Pumps in the next 2-3 weeks.

One question though.

If I have an SVT Focus pump can I just buy another Focus Pump and then buy the Cobra tank?

You still need the Cobra sending unit...

I did a write up on it...http://www.badmustangsclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13769

I just added a BAP today.

Tim at MPH said I was maxxing out my stock pump.

My "butt dyno" says it feel stronger...I wonder if the ECU was limiting me via the IPTS sender...and now that I have lots-o-fuel pressure it is letting me have all it can make?
