Well track season is finally here and i need a little help. Last season i had a 95 GT with a CHP 331 stroker and all the bolt on's. This season i have a 03 Cobra with o/r x-pipe, Bassani catback and cold air. I was wondering at what rpm should i launch at? I will be running on street tires, which really sucks. I see alot of people with 03/04 Cobras running without the passenger side headlight does this help any? Any other advice is apprieciated.

Takes a lot of skill and practice to launch a Cobra with IRS. Especially if your IRS is bone stock... you'll have to leave pretty soft (2500-3500RPM's) and feather the clutch otherwise it'll be hop city. You can't just dump the clutch and hope for the best with an IRS. If the car does start hopping you need to get out of the gas quickly or you'll risk snapping a half-shaft. Don't try to ride it out 'cause it ain't happening. Takes a lot of talent to get one of these pigs off the line with the stock rear. Best 60' I got with my stock IRS and stock F1's was a 1.96, but there have been a few who have actually managed a 1.8x with this same combo.

As for removing the headlight... depends on the design of your CAI. Some CAI's are open in the front of the filter and removing the passenger headlight provides a direct path for cool air to flow straight into the intake. I'm not familiar enough with the MAC setup though so you'll have to look and make that determination yourself.
