Ok I have a bone stock 2004 Mustang GT. I really don't know what to do as far as exhaust goes. I want my mustang to be really loud when I want it to be but still be able to listen to my radio while driving, or not to hum or rattle everything. I would like to get a full exhaust system either long tube or shortie headers. It had to be coated I dont want it to rust away. I have looked and I like borla, slp, and Mac cat back. What combination would you recommend that sounds, looks, and gives the best performace?

Magnaflow is a relatively cheap route for stainless steel, if not rusting is that important to you. Borla, too; My brother's Borla has gone through 3 MN winters and he hasn't touched it, yet it looks brand new. Don't bother with shorties, go longtubes if you're going to bother. If you're going to do headers and a midpipe, you might want to consider a mild muffler unless you really like things loud. Just my opinion.

Exhausts made of metal are by far the best ones to get. For more details try doing a search. Also, full exhaust with headers and everything is gonna be close to $1600 installed.

It doesn't matter what you get, you'll want to change it after a year, then probably again a year later, then you'll try straight pipes, then you'll go back to the first mufflers you bought. Here's the thing about stang drivers....we buy new mufflers more often then we buy new shoes. Oh yea.....and to answer your question: BASSANI

My exhaust (see sig) sounds pretty sweet, especially from outside the car, it's different too as not many stangs have it I don't think. Good performance and not obnoxiously loud, but not stainless.

Having said that, I would still like to buy full Bassanni for it some day :D.

Magnaflow catback, & MRT catted h pipe. All stainless. To me its the perfect blend of a classic musclecar tone, but smooth & not overly loud & raspy. Its loud enough 4 me. I have done the x pipes b4 & they sound good, but I like the deeper tone of the h pipe.

im running Stock Manifolds, Off-Road ProChamber and flows welded into stock catback... everyone in the area LOVES how it sounds... nice and loud but not TERRIBLE inside... tho the "drone zone" is uber loud with the prochamber too :)

also you need to decide on what you want. do you want something raspy? SLP LMII's and an BBK Xpipe, or do you want deep and rumbly? Flows and a prochamber or possibly Magnapacks and prochamber...

Here is my best advice to you:

Exhaust choice is a personal preferrence (based on sound). Go to www.mustangexhaust.com and listen to their audio clips of all the various exhaust combos and pick what you like. Search up that combo/whatever on here, and read up on the reviews and opinions.

BTW, if you search up the word "exhaust" for the 4.6 forums, you'll find 197 results. Tons of info to sift through.

Hope that helps,
Matt
