First a little background info. I have factory headers, unknown brand h-pipe, and flowmasters with turndowns. My exhaust has rusted and broken where the flomaster muffler mates with the h-pipe. Its rattling around and annoying the heck out of me.

Now for my questions! Would it be completely ridiculous to run the headers, h-pipe and then run straight pipes out the side like side exit exhaust? I know it would be loud, but how loud? I dont have cats either! I dont think it would be as loud IN the car as it is now with the dumps, since it would exit out from under. But just how loud do you think it would be? I dont have money to buy a side exit exhaust kit, and Im kinda tired of the sound and smell in the car with the dumps.
I could grind and weld the broken spot and buy tailpipes, but thats kinda boring... Do I sound like a redneck wanting to run this setup?

Nice video Green! What exhaust were you running in that? Sounded almost like straight pipes... And this may be a stupid question, but how do you get the flame out of your tail pipes? Is it really as easy as a spark plug welded in the pipe, or would you have to be running really rich to make a flame with that setup?

I had the stock catter H-Pipe with side exits and no mufflers for a while. It was pretty loud. Then i put turndown on that. Then i got an O/R H-Pipe and all hell broke loose.

Loudest street car I ever heard. Loud as ****. So Un-Godly loud, that its just ridiculous. lol.

P.S. I loved it.

P.S.S. I actually noticed a little hearing loss after about 3 months. And yes its loud as **** in the cab.

I cannot stress how loud it was. I have been about 3 miles away froma buddies house with nothing but woods between me and his house. Did a burnout and got a call like 2 minutes later from him asking if I was just flooriing it cause he heard me. lol

I remeber the first time I let someone drive my car without me in it. I had never heard it from the outside. When they pulled out the driveway and nailed it I was shocked. I seriously did not know it was that loud. It is louder from 30 ft away than it is in the cab. It was just obscene.

I want them back. :(

Lol, I dont need any trouble with the law, otherwise I would try it out... I love mine with flowmasters and dumps, but Im getting used to it so it doesnt seem as loud anymore... Thats why I said I thought putting tailpipes on was boring! I probably end up just welding what I have, and the flamethrowers wouldnt be a good idea with dumps under the car.

Anyone ever thought of trying to weld in some Dynomax Bullets in place of the cats and then running straight pipe from there on out the side (or even just dump it as usual)? I have the usual o/r h-pipe with some old flowmasters dumped at the axle and I want something a little different but I don't have a lot of money to invest in a fancy exhaust system.

BTW this is NOT a daily driver, so noise isn't a big deal! :D

I think it will be too low , how big are those bullets compare to cats?
