Anyone know what parts can be swapped over to a Classic Mustang? Then again has anyone ever tried? I have the possibility to pick up a 92 T-Bird for cheap and I just want to know. The motor and tranny will most likely transfer, but what about brakes and front mcpherson strut suspension and brakes?

I would say if you made the new motor and trans carbed it could be a very direct and simple install. Things I could foresee possibly needing is a different length driveshaft and/or yoke. If you want to keep the EFI on the new engine you will need to transfer the entire harness over and wire in the switches or get an aftermarket harness. You would have to update fuel pump and you would need to plumb a return line. Likely the easiest would be to simply take the intake off of the current engine and put that onto the new long block.

I'm looking for a donor car to use the harness and computer. I plan on using a 94 351W fuel injected and stroked. But I also want to use new suspension, if the mcpherson strut, spindles and brakes swap over with little effort. I'd also take into consideration swapping in the rear end too. I know that wouldn't be a bolt in job, but I plan on using a different rear suspension anyway. Preferrably a coil over unit. But that all depends on whether the 8.8 will stand up to the abuse.
