solid motor mounts

just installed some maximum motorsport solid motor mounts and holy **** my car vibrates really bad once its pass 1,500rpm's is that normal??? i started thinking my harmonic balencer is bad but someone told me its the mounts. if it is then im going back to stock ruber ones. whats your opion thanks

I have heard this is common I am about to put my solids in and i am hoping it won't be bad.
I had an 89 S10 with a 400 small bloak chebby in it with solids and I didn't mind it

that's the problem w/ soild mounts, you, feel all the vibrations even if there is nothing wrong you'll feel it.

Ditch those on a street car!! Get the stock ones from a convertible, they are a different style then the hardtops, and they are still rubber. Or you can go with the poly mounts, from www.50resto.com

I got the solid mounts and only at idle does the car vibrate. While cruzing and such the car is fine, doesn't really vibrate any more than before.

Mine doesn't vibrate while driving per se mine does "pulsate" while driving though from the massive amout of power under the hood. You will get used to it. Mine would rattle @ idle, now all the rattles seem to have taken care of themselves.

If you go back with stock rubber type mounts, i believe the 93 GT's, are the same capured mount design as the 'verts. You could also look into poly mounts, maybe some of the members here have those

ES is definitely the way to go...got 'em on the motor, trans. and x-member. Strong and rides like stock!
