Should have held out for a better deal, I bought my 87 GT with 52k for that price, and it needed nothing but a battery.

hey man, if everyone turned their heads on project stangs, there would be way less stangs around. build her up nice and flaunt her to everyone! my first one was a rustang also, it had a rusty hatch. but it also had t-tops to make up for it.![]()

every bit of it is surface rust...the only spot that has rusted through is that little spot...a grinder...and a welder will take care of that...he is putting the trans in and delivering it...has the receipt from jasper in the glove box..... its what i could find and what i could afford..yeah..now say i was on a 3,000 budget to buy the car i could of got a better one but i like this one..and in my head i know what it will look like when done... yeah looks like a piece now but...i like it...
and this is no rust compared to a couple others i was looking at for around the same price..
yeah forget those who rain on you... take progress pics. Unless you put 22" wheels on the car, it will be fine![]()
dude no use defending yourself. people have there opinions and there is nothing wrong with that. Your happy with it, and thats all that matters.. start working on it, and progress thread FTW

nah...i think after its painted and running good ill try and find a decent set of pony wheels...
yeah..i guess...ill make one after i get it here...looks like were going to put off having it delivered to us till Friday...weather on wednesday is not looking to good..![]()
1,600 delivered to my door with a brand new black top and a brand new auto tranny with 2,000 miles on it..
worth it? to me yes....to most of you probably not because its not a "5 speed" and its a little rusty... but to me...its a diamond in a ruff...a big ruff at that...you all seen what my dads car started looking like and the way the paint is today...nicer huh?
i wouldnt pay 1600 for it for the simple fact that it's a complete turd. i regret buying my 2.3LX and it's in much better shape... tranny isnt an issue 'cuz i prefer automatics.

I do have to say, if your not driving it now is a good time to take on a project. You should have lots of spare time, and if your working you will have money. The car has potential as does any Mustang out there, just need to get it and get to work.
It will be a LOT of work though, trust me!
i understand it's a project, i have one of my own. i was talking about the fact that you spent $1,600 fricken dollars on it. it's not me but if it was, i MIGHT have given $250 for it considering you could part it out and make that back.![]()
