Who's using roller rockers and/or aftmrkt lifters? Why/Why not?

Roller rockers used to be a big deal on pushrod motors, but I haven't heard much about it on modulars... In fact, until recently I didn't even know that there were any aftermarket roller rockers for mod-motors. I thought everyone used the stock stuff. I'm being told to just used the stock lifters and rockers, which is fine because obviously there is no problem with them...but if there is something a bit better and offers a performance gain, why not get them? I haven't priced 4.6 roller rockers for a 2V yet, but can anyone testify as to whether or not they are worth the expense? I'm building a 2V teksid longblock for 15+ lbs of boost... I want to get the most out of the set up as I can.

not many have use them due to: high cost, not proven to-be reliable and factory suff has seen 9k rpm's wth NO issues.
now, if you want roller rockers, I think Jessel has them for @$2k and soild lifters are aval for @$1k this might net you another 10 to 15 hp, is-it worth $3k??

Hmm... No. I wonder why they have set their cost so high. traditional stud-mount roller rockers are still only a few hunderd dollars. I also just finished reading an article about what problems are created for the rockers with regrind cams. Pretty interesting - tried to post the link but I guess we're not allowed to even type Modjewlar Deepo. Did Mike R burn another bridge?

one of the problems i heard was you will have to keep checking the aftermarket followers/lifters and adjusting them which is no big deal if its a track only car but on a daily driver who wants to keep removing the valve covers...so add that with the really high cost and you see why they aren't so popular. I thought about using them just because i wanted the best parts available for my Teksid build but i also wanted reliability so i stuck with the stock parts.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about having to constantly adjust the lash, and that didn't really appeal to me either. Too bad a good thing has to be tainted by greed and inconsistency. Guess I'll save my dough and stick with the stock equip.
