Me vs. SRT 8 Charger

On a side note... He took me for a ride, then he let me drive.. I'd probably have a hard time holding him off past 40.... Thats a really nice Muscle car for a family man and very fast. I'll take mine in silver please I'd probably step down to the R/T since the 5.7L Hemi had plenty for my use but it gets better mileage than 17mpg. I need the Ram Air hood / intake though...

It Makes me even more interested in the Challenger for a weekend warrior if I don't order a new Mustang GT this year.

I agree, love the SRT-8. I've never driven one but they look cool as hell. I drove a friends 5.7 R/T and came away thinking, "no wonder they're all over the place", that is a nice damn car. It rode much smoother than expected, had good pull and very decent handling, considering. I wasn't crazy about the layout of the center console and dash but I could live with it.




A little off-topic but speaking of rwd v8 sedans, someone posted this article on another board. I hope Ford does bring this to the U.S. Looks like a pretty cool car.

It appears that Ford has started importing some rear-wheel-drive prototypes from Australia into its U.S. engineering operations. The spies at KGP Photography caught this prototype for the next-generation Australian Ford Falcon at one of Ford's Detroit engineering centers, being unloaded from a shipping container.

The packaging looks consistent with a car that has just made a trip across the ocean–in either a boat or a cargo plane.

The appearance of this rear-wheel-drive prototype seems to support rumors that Ford is looking to Australia for much of its rear-wheel-drive future — a move eerily similar to GM's reliance on Holden to take the engineering lead on the Pontiac G8, Chevy Camaro, and the likely GTO and Impala spin-offs that are due to use GM's Zeta architecture.

Ford's plans appear to be a little less locked-in than GM's, but some pundits say that the 2009-2010 Mustang may share some Aussie DNA. And if a rear-wheel-drive replacement for Ford's Crown Victoria is to come about, it will likely rely heavily on the new Falcon.

On Ford's own media website, Australia's growing importance in Ford's global product plans was touted through a hopeful press release, which said: "An all-new Falcon model and future Territory models will form the basis of potential export opportunities for Ford Australia's globally competitive large rear-wheel drive vehicle platform…. The addition of left-hand drive engineering capability to our product development team will provide significant experience and assist us to develop a viable export program for our world class rear-wheel drive architecture."

Something definitely appears to be stirring in Dearborn, and this Falcon prototype showing up in Detroit looks to be our first sign that things have progressed beyond mere talk.

My only complaints are the higher axle ratios that CANNOT be changed, and no column shift for the auto.. I'd rather have a column shifter, oh and NO B5 Blue color available.

If you need a column shifter R/T than just get the police pacage 5.7, it has that shifter and it weighs less with no limiters goes 155 mph out of the box! the state bid for them where I live is $26,000.

lol, I got the same deal going on with my neighbor who won't stop talking sh#t to me, but he's got a bone stock 06 GTO which he thinks is a top fuel dragster..

If your neighbor's GTO is a stock 5.7, he needs to shut his mouth cause he'll be in deep trouble depending on what you're driving.

On the other hand, the 6.1s pack a more considerable punch, but either way, those cars are clunky and I hear the suspensions are terrible resulting in poor handling all around.

'course the Mustang isn't known for it's handling either.

Hmm the charger is gunna smoke the stang unless he gets the hp gap to like 100 or less then id say hes got a chance with the weight difference...Otherwise.....I hope you didnt bet him any money.

Yeah I see those Holden's driving around here all the time at the proving grounds in Milford, MI. Pretty nice cars. I even saw one badged as a chevy. Seen what I believe is the blue devil as well I've always been a fan of the Austrailian cars so hopefully ford will bring some of those here.
