Hey guys, like the title says i might be buying a '85 GT Hatchback 5.0 Automatic Mustang. I've always wanted the '85 - '86 and now i found one from a local guy! I just want to know if its a good deal or not? THANKS

Hey wants $2000.00 OBO. He said there is some wiggle room. I doubt he would turn down $1500.00! Is that a good deal? I think it is.....

-------1985 Mustang GT Hatchback
-5.0 V8
-Automatic (Stock Tranny) Just rebuilt
-116,000 miles
-Runs great, shifts nice
-2 Rust spots - Lower right rocker(Rusted through but small hole) and above right rear wheel well( Also small rusted through)
-One small dent on roof(nothing else)
-Bone Stock interior besides cd player, No tears just normall wear
-Bone stock exterior but missing fog lights
-Underbody is good with stock exhaust
-Engine is stock
-No T-top or sunroof
-No leaks, drinks very little oil(Half quarter per oil change) Normal!
-Orignal Paint

If you need to know anything else let me know but thats about all i think you need to know!

yeah def jump on it and dont convert it to aero nose.

worth noting that the 85 automatic cars were CFI...180hp...

just look for anything that you would normally look for. you have a clean LX, base the condition of the 85 off of that

I wouldn't give more than $1600 for a GT like that in my area. Frankenstang got her '86 'vert GT for $1400, and there isn't a speck of rust ANYWHERE on that thing. (Of course, it helps that it's been in AZ its whole life, but still... :) )

For $2,000 that thing had better either have some decent mods or be in absolutely pristine shape.

85's and 86's go way higher around here because they're both ONE OFF years

Yeah, honestly the '85 - '86 cars around here sell for like 3 grand and are junk. This has good orignal paint and no tears in the interior and it runs great. Plus it has relaitively low miles for being 22+ years old... only 116k. My '91 has 81K on it..

By the way i'm going to look at it tomorrow! So much for my new mustang parts i was gonna order with my 1900 bucks ha. Now its going to another stang. Oh well. I still got the Fluidyne raidiator and black magic electric fan sittin in our shop so.

I'll let you guys know if i buy it! I'll be going there at 4:30 tomorrow! I'll post pics up the next day though after i was her up nice!

FIRST MOD I DO will be installing my old pony rims off my '91!
Then comes the Saleen side skirts, saleen rear valance, 5 lug converison and my chrome 18's! Ha

In case you guys didnt know. Mustangs of ANY year are worth whatever its worth to the right buyer. One mans trash is another mans treasure. wait another 15 years and see how many clean foxes are left

Ha idk i think its a good deal. It has the CFI engine... does anybody know if thats any good? Its like carb with efi ha. If he takes 1500 or 1600 tomorrow lets just say i'm driving it back and my buddy is driving my pontiac home! ha. I always loved the '85 - '86 GTs!

^^^^ very true. But most likely none of my foxes will ever be sold if i can help it! So yes i hope they go up in value but i wouldn't sell them anyway!
