I will have to agree with you. There is nothing like driving a HIGHLY modded saleen. Other than maybe a highly modded Z06
.
A built mod 2v is really not a cost effective solution.
The KB intercooled kit is $5000, and then building the shortblock is going to cost major money on top of it, figure a $2500 shortblock and at least $1500 in parts and labor to assemble it, and that's not including SC and engine re-install and tune.
Better choice would be to get an 03/04 cobra engine and fuel setup, and drop it in, using the gt harness, and get a re-tune.

but I get just as many looks in my Cobra as my Saleen or any Mustang I have ever been in and IMO that should not be a reason to get or keep one or the other.

Not likely. You can certainly toughen them up to take a little more abuse, but for drag racing, nothing beats a live axle rear end. Aside from being stronger, stiffer, and cheaper, they're also more consistent, lighter and ultimately....better!
Save the IRS for the Road Course.

Hey Marcus, no typo...that is the correct amount I'm asking. I have it priced for a quick sale. Everyone seems to think you can get your money back in mods you put in a car. I've done enough buying and selling to know you can't. When I buy a car, I purposely look for one that is bone stock because these people who add up their receipts and then tack it on to the high book value are just crazy and wasting their time. A good deal no doubt for whoever picks it up. I'm surprised to see my ad up already. I haven't even sent Mark my payment information, I'll have to give him a call Thursday morning and do that. If you're reading this Mark, much appreciated!
Good news is my ship is on it's way to Guam right now. That is where I get off and fly back home. Already have a few Cobra's lined up to test drive and look at. I've narrowed the color choice down to black or DSG. Plenty of those floating around.

That is why you demod the car, return it to stock, and sell your parts for 1/2 price to recoup some of the cost.
That's the problem though....you never do. Not to mention....is it really worth the hassle to start tearing parts off the car. I mean, a CAI is one thing, but exahaust components, pullies, etc just turn out to be a big PITA. And that's assuming you've still got the stock parts lying around to replace them with.
I can see doing that for larger expensive mods like a Kenne Bell supercharger or expensive wheels and tires.

It depends if the $$ recouped from the parts out weighs the PITA factor.
Keep in mind that the money you get back from the mods is after tax money too.
None of the mods in his sig are big dollar items, yes they add up, but removing one because it's a modular engine, may cause him to have to remove many, if not them all.
The car is likely tuned for all those mods, it isn't always easy to just pull it all apart in that case.
Besides, in his case with the basic and what looks to be good choices in mods, that makes his car slightly more appealing IMO, as opposed to stock.

Thanks Bill, but I want a plain Jane looking Cobra. Only exterior mods I intend to do are tinted windows and 17x10.5 AFS Cobra replica wheels with 315 BFGoodrich or Nitto tires. I just don't want the attention anymore that the Saleen exterior styling attracts. I guess I'm going more for a sleeper look.

I was thinking the same thing.
I'd be much more afraid of a guy in an 03 cobra than a new edge saleen, considering the odds are it's not an s351.
