Did the shelby drop, and as much as I hate letting others work on my car, I had to get it aligned. Dropped it off at a place with the specs, they said they are familiar with older cars and that they would take care of me.

2 hours later, the guy says he cant align the camber, because the bolt holes where I dropped the control arms are supposed to be elongated to let the upper control arm be adjusted :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I have no idea what hes going to charge me cause I'm posting this from my cellphone, isnt the camber adjusted with SHIMS, not physically tweaking the control arm

Has anyone else had issues with getting their cars aligned after the shelby drop?

Personally, and excuse my french, I think he is full of ****.

It appears that the holes I drilled have been elongated the tiniest bit. I admit I was a cockhair off on the drilling, so I just took the bit and made the hole slightly bigger tword the drivers side, no more than 1/32nd of an inch. This allowed the control arm to slide in, but allowed for ZERO movement in either up/down left/right.

He should have still been able to adjust the camber am I not correct?

I just jacked the car up and made a rudimentary camber kit out of a peice of aluminum and a protractor. I took the UCA bolts off and with a tap of my trusty hammer I was able to adjust the UCA as to add/subtract shims.

He was completely full of ****, if my skinny ass can do it anyone can:rolleyes:

I'm setting the alignment myself, he said that he adjusted the toe in but couldnt do caster/camber. Camber was @ -.5 degree on one wheel, and -.4 on the other. Close enough for now.

Oh, and the reason I went to the shop was because the guy said he just did a 65 mustang alignment, and a mach 1 but didnt know what year. I figured heck, he must know how to do SOMETHING......

There is a shop in Bennsenville accross the street from the Mustangs of Chicago store that does all of there alignments, I have not personally taken in there, but I know they know what they are doing on old mustangs.
