Question About Exhaust

I'm currently running Roush side exhaust with Spintech mufflers and a MRT Hi-Flow H-Pipe. And it sounds GREAT during accelerations and revs but is not all that audible at cruising speeds (5th gear). I passed by another GT the other night and it rumbled down the entire freeway. What will I have to do to get that same rumble without driving around in 3rd gear the whole time?

Is that H-pipe catted? If so, an offroad pipe would make a huge difference.

O/R H didnt really make my cruise much louder.

You need more power going through your engine if you want an ALWAYS loud car.

Thats just my thought. With more air going through the exhaust that means more air going through your exhaust which makes it alot freaking louder. Add a Supercharger or turbo and see =]

Yeah I like how you assume I can just add superchargers and turbo chargers like that

it's mostly the gears, Z06's have 500 rwhp and sound like a Cadillac on the freeway. Even some 400 + rwhp stangs iv come across just put put at anyhting above 4th gear. RPM's makes the noise, so gears is your answer.

Naw, jk, I think an off road H or X will make a huge difference because cats quiet & smooth down the tone of the exhaust dramatically, but in a good way imo...

+1, O/R midpipe will make it scream.

i think its more of the mid pipe and gearing you have..........cause since i swapped to a O/R prochamber i can really hear my exhaust now at any rpm from the outside...... and the lower gearing will also put your car at a higher rpm at 5th gear

Gut the cats is the cheapest way, off road X, headers. Thats all to help sound unless you do some forced induction
