ok guys, i know this question has been posted before, but i got another view on it.
i have a 07 gt, basically stock. nothing more than a tune, and steeda UD pullies. I ordered a cold air, hopefully it will be here this week. My car is auto, 3:31 gears, and its a pig outta the hole. If I launch to hard it will either spin, or not hard enough it will bog, and it takes alot to get the 3600lb car to move. I've always put my own gears in, i was taught how, and i always use FMS gears. I dunno how much of a difference a 3:73 would make in a auto car, so i want to do a 4:10. I would try the 3:90 out, but FMS doesn't make one.
So heres my question, i've heard if you put 4:10's in a DD, since your driveshaft spins faster, it will throw it outta balance after a while. I'm not sure if this is true or not, i've never had a set of 4:10's. MM&FF just put a 4:10 in their project MILF and it only raised the rpm's up 500RPMS. they said 60mph went from 1,750 to 2,250. I can live with that, i drive about 70 miles a day all highway doing 70+. The car won't be my DD for that long, probably another 6-7 months or so. Do you guys think a 4:10 will be ok? I want to do a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft, but thats another $600 i gotta save up!
thanks guys for all the help!
