I chose a new engine...opinions?

First off, let me say that Modular Mustang Racing (MMR) is one of the most professional aftermarket businesses I have ever dealt with, and should be a model for all other dealers. The professionalism, kindness, and taking the time to actually talk to me and explain things is rare to see, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an engine. Here is what I got:

MMR 5.0 STROKER Street Mod 950 (up to 950 RWHP)

*Brand New Cast Iron 2004 Cobra Block, torque plate bored and honed
*New 4340 Forged 3.750 stroke Crankshaft w/micro polished journals at no extra charge (NOT HONDA JOURNAL)
*New 4340 Forged H-beam Rods
*New MMR/ Manley or Diamond pistons 3.552 Bore size (High or low compression)
*Speed Pro file fit rings (precision file fit to your application, nitrous, blower, turbo or N/A)
*Speed Pro/Federal Mogul Race series Rod and Main bearings
*Complete Pro Assembly and Balancing for the smoothest, highest revving shortblock available.
*Racing oil pump - installed
*18cc Dished Pistons w/ valve reliefs

Should arrive next week :)

It sounds like it's a done deal already, but just FYI VT engines is in Lansing, MI. I was just there this weekend dropping off my 4.6 longblock to be rebuilt and forged.. It was only a 2.75 hr trip from Olmsted....

I originally ordered parts through VT, and I still don't have half my order and it will be one month since July 10 since I ordered them. MMR is going to have my block done and shipped in 4 days, but thanks for the heads up anyway :)

how much for the block with the forged goodies? and are you building it or it comes put together?

The shortblock comes completely assembled; I got it for roughly $3700 which includes shipping from CA to OH. If your interested, PM me and I'll let you know who I spoke to over there - very helpful and professional.

I also forgot to say earlier that the block DOES come with a 1 year warranty :D

Wait, I'm confused - I thought this was the setup you were already running...? Or did you update your My Garage with the new engine but leave the old dyno sheet? In any case, what fuel delivery system were you running when you maxed it out @ 15psi?

I just updated My Garage, has the old dyno sheet + numbers. New numbers won't be available for a couple of weeks.

My old fuel system that I was maxing out had 42# injectors and a 255 lph fuel pump. Since then, I switched to the 60# injectors and the cobra tank + pumps, and boost a pump.
