The Cobra has a 65mm TB and a 70mm MAF which are adequate up to the 300+hp level. A fenderwell cold air kit with 3" piping should do nicely (either buy one ready made or make your own).
your info on the TB size, im pretty sure its the same TB as the gt. getting ready to order some piping but not sure how im going to reuse the stock maf with a conical filter
I went to a place that deals with plastic materials and got a scrap piece of pvc
about 5/8" thick and around 6" square.
I just cut a hole in the center with the 4 flange holes on the corners and
glued a 6" section of 3" pipe for a home made adaptor.
Total cost ............ Zero Dollars and about 30 minutes to make it

Ya i saw your pictures in another thread u were the only one i was able to find, altho im glad you explained what i was looking at because before i wasn't sure,lol i forgot to read your sig because i thought u were running a aftermarket MAF here so i was scratchin my head on how to do this. i thought of this idea only i wanted to use metal and maybe just have a budy weld it together for me. It seems alot of people use pvc but i remember reading somewhere that pvc wasn't so good at standing up to the heat and pressure and that in the long run it collapses over time.

Nothing but pvc pipe and plumbing couplers you find at hardware stores
You can do the same with big truck exhaust pipe but you gotta weld
You just gotta get creative and get busy

My focus was on function before looking good

actually now that i look at your pictures again im confused again,lol, your filter screws on.....and im hopping that red part is ur maf housing which i assume is painted red? because i thinkmys a metal color and the shape and 4screws on the otherside confuses me too, lol its been awhile sick i took my intake part and cleaned my maf sensor,lol

I was trying to address your concern about using the OEM meter
Two totally different setups because ... as you have pointed out ... the setup
in the pics is based upon a ProM shorty 80mm meter. Yes the red object is
the meter. ProM used to make them in different colors. Both the meter and
filter were a package deal from ProM. Really ... all I basically did was use two
Fernco couplers and short piece of pipe between them.

I don't have any pics from my old flange mount adaptor setup. It was just a
thick piece of pvc about the same size as the OEM meter flange with a short
piece of 3" pipe.
I can assure you the pvc will not melt
I used schedule 40 3" pipe whichis quite durable.
Now ... if you used that very thin pvc I could see a prob
If you wanna do a metal cai you should be able to rig one up with big
truck exhaust sections. Just fit it together, weld it up, paint it as you
desire.

by forced induction do u mean like the Ram Air? the idea is cool but would require alot of bends, and its a little low for the rainy season for some......unsuspecting puddle of water heh
Once ram air has to go around one curve, its pretty useless unless you are going 90+ MPH.
