I was under the car yesterday chnging oil and I see my pass side muffler has rusted through all around where the pipe goes in and these are Magnaflows:bang: Oh well:shrug: I also see they are 2.5 and just the mufflers, he cut out the factory ones and adapted them to the 2.25 pipes. I just put on a BBK H-pipe and am low on cash:( but I have to replace the exaust. I was looking at the Ford Racing cat back and they are only 250 and are stainless steel. Are they good? I would like a little more growl but not obnoxious. I like the civalized tone the car has. If I could afford Bassani or Borla I would go that way, but I have to keep it under $300.

I was lookin into one of those catbacks in the past because they are stainless, & they are cheap. The only thing that turns me off about them are that they kneckdown from 2 1/2 to almost 2 inches where the mufflers connect to the piping. They are pretty quiet too I believe, but I have never heard them in person. If you are on a budget, u can get one for now & if u dont like the tone, u can get better mufflers down the road when money permits. & if u get a 2 1/2 muffler, it will eliminate the parts that kneckdown to 2 inches. Hell, they are cheaper than a flowmaster catback & flowmaster is aluminized & this is Stainless, which is excellent!!!!

Thanks, I may just do that. I did not know they went down to 2 inches on the mufflers, but can see it in the picture, thanks. The Flowmaster American thunder in all aluminized is only $245 but I want polished tips and dont know if they would be too loud:shrug: I put them on a 94 Firebird with a LT-1 and they were too loud.

Being that they are stainless, I bet your Magnaflows arent even rusted out, its probably a crappy weld to the catback from the muffler shop. U could probably reuse them on the FRPP catback....

The Magnaflows are almost as old as the car and do not look stainless. Pass side weld is broke all the way around on the input pipe going in the muffler (not the reducer pipe) and the drivers side is rusted through on the botton rear part of the can:shrug:

Screw it, I just ordered the Flowmaster Force II from Summit, should be here by Friday. Was going to just cheep out and buy the Summit kit, but Turbo mufflers and straight cut pipes and all the slip on pipe connections:notnice: I have always liked Flowmaster and the quality is nice, just hope its not too loud in the car.
