Can't find part for tranny

Guy's...............I have a 96 Mustang GT with the 4.6 and auto transmission. The transmission fill tube assy. part number F6ZZ-7A228-A, (for the dipstick) is no longer made by Ford. I have checked all dealers and nobody has one in stock. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get one of these ? I would prefer a new one rather than going to a junk yard and pulling one, if at all possible. If they don't have one any where, what are my options, since the one in the car now leaks and needs replacing ? As alwyas, thanks for any help you guys can provide.

1996 to 1998 was the same and as you've found out both the tube and the dipstick are discontinued by Ford, so you have 2 options, 1 is a junk yard or any "used" source or you could goto a 1999 up tube but you'll have toget the matching dip stick. now the 1999 up tube is slightly different where it attaches to the trns but should work just fine as the trans case and the trans pan are the same from 1996 up

There is an "antiquefordparts.com" that might well have some of these. It seems almost criminal to discontinue a part before a model year is 10 years old, without having some sort of replacement available.

And Ford can't figure out why they are bleeding away market share each and every year???
