Man this sucks! Now with pics

So the wife was on her way from the beach lastnight in the rental car, the one we have still from when the jeep got wrecked. We didnt get the ins on it at the time of rental but we do have full coerage ins on the stangs and the jeep and are covered on any car/vehical we drive. So on her way home she hit a deer. It's not bad it got the hood passenger side headlight and bumper, grill. So what do you think will happen? Since we have ins on our cars then i'm hoping ours will cover the rental? Has anyone ever experianced this with a rental? I'll post pics in a bit. peace

You have to have specified that you wanted rental car insurance with your insurance provider at the time of taking out the policy. Either you have it already or your screwed...

You're not screwed. Double check with your insurance company but....

Hitting a dear is a no-deductable, no fault through your insurance company (comprehensive portion of your insurance, I believe). If she had swerved to miss the dear and damaged the car by running into a ditch or tree or whatever... THEN you might be screwed.

This is of course, is if you elected to NOT take the additional insurance from the rental company.

Well heres the deal, i talked with he adjuster from safco (our insurance) and he said that we only have to worry about our deductible! Thats sweet! It's $500. Now IF we would of taken the ins offered by enterprise for $13.99 a day x 32days = $447.68 plus tax witch would be about $520.00 or so as of today! SO by not taking there ins i'm saving $20 or so bucks :D .Basically when you take a rental car companies ins (atleast at enterprise) it will cover your ass and pick up your deductible if any that is, if you dont have ins then most car companies wont rent to you if you dont have ins. So who knows when farmers will settle out with me? As of now they have paid $639.68 before taxes for this rental car :nonono: plus who knows how much more? peace

dont tell anybody, find a new hood and headlight, glue everything else back as best you can then when you return the car park it about 2" away from a fence or somewhere they cant see the front end..lol and BTW tell her next time to throw the deer in the trunk so at least you get some meat outta the deal..

Double check your policy to make sure that you DO in fact have a deductible on your comprehensive insurance. Many folks don't (I don't). My only deductible is on the collision side of my policy.

Your right i was thinking of lowering it on this side but then again i'm not shure? But yes after speaking to my ins guy he did say my deduct is $500 on both. You know after dealing with this ins stuff on this and our cherokee "FULL COVERAGE" ins isnt really "full coverage"! Heres an example we just bought the 99 jeep grand cherokee in june 07 (3 months ago) right now we owe $10,300 they blue book for $9150.00. So the ins should have to give us the $9150.00 leaving us with a ballance on the loan. BUT we have full coverage, so in most peoples head with having full coverage it should be paid for WRONG! This is where when anyone that buy's a car and has to finance it you need to purchase the GAP INS at the time you purchase the vehical. MOST dealers dont ask about it and some just through it in cause why not! I really think i'm being fair with farmers :( they offered me $8145 i told them LOL THANKS FOR THE INSULT! I said i owe $10,300 thats what i'll take! I just bought this thing 2 months ago (this is at the time of the wreak) so he said um i'll get back to you, and a month later still nothing! So he left a mesage the other day i called back and nothing yet? Here is what i would settle for now but would rather have the $10,300. KBB of $9150 + $244.xx for august payment and the $700xx for the tires i just put on 4 days prior to the accident = $10,009.00 so that means i'll just have to eat the $200 and some that would remain.I feel thats perfectly fair, there the ones paying more in the long run cause they have whatever they give me for our jeep plus about $7-800 (as of now prob be alot higher when we settle?) for the rental car there providing for us so if they were to settle out now for the $10,009 they would have that + $6-700 for the rental car = $10,700.00 or so? When if they would of just paid off the $10,300 like i wanted they would of been better off  . peace

Is this the same car we were picked up in at the Airport? I think I still see some hair and some butt sludge there John.
Glue a bright red light on the bumper and see if Santa calls you in 4 months. Tell Santa you got rudolph in a safe place and if you want him back alive he has to get you the X-Box 360 that you've always wanted. Or a Turbo kit.
Nice to have a bargaining chip once in awhile.
