MY ****ING CAR BURNED DOWN!!!!!!

Welp...Pictures pretty much tell the story. I don't know if you remember my story a while ago, but I was doing a compression test on her, and during the very first test, the fuel rails lifted up a litte bit. I took them off earlier, to better get at the plugs, but apparently I didn't screw it back down tight enough. Anyway, as I was cranking it over, I saw fuel spray out, and I stopped, but it was too late. I'm thinking it was the hot headers that ignited it, but what does it matter. I put out the small flames with a fire extinguisher, and I thought I was good, but there were flames down lower that caught back up. By the time the fire trucks got there, it was a roaring fireball (see pics). Think I can fix it in a weekend? :rlaugh:

My insurance company hasn't looked at it yet, they're coming Monday. What do you think I can get for it? I'm thinking several things. Depends on what I can get from insurance. Think its worth it to swap in a cobra motor??

eesh man luckily u weren't in the car when that happened. Depending the extent of the damage i'd say cobra swap or maybe a new car?? don't really know how much was damaged in the fire.

OMG dude, I dont know how you arent crying in those pics. Im sorry man, that REALLY sucks.

Vehicle fires scare the s**t out of me, and I carry an extenguisher in my Stang also.

Maybe its time to go old school and drop in a cammed 351 with some spray. I dont think itd be worth re-wiring everything that was burned up as far as a fuel injected motor. That is, if its salvagable... looks like it got pretty hot.

Also, at least you COULD probaly buy it back and part it all out if you wanted. Your really lucky the whole thing didnt go up. How long was it burning for?

This is a great example of how failing to do the research, failing to understand what you are doing, and failing to take proper precautions can lead to property damage, injury, environmental destruction, and even death :bang:
