Mike Shanahan better than Bill Bilichick? Not even close.

:nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

lol shannahan compared to billichick i mean shanahan has done good and i like his style of coaching alot but u cant be serious thinkin hes better then billichick right?

Sorry Shannahan hasnt done much since Elway left. Imo Elway and Terrel Davis made Shannahan, Bill Belichick made Tom Brady and probably would have won those 3 superbowls regardless of Brady. Shannahan wouldnt have come close without Elway. Jmo though

Belichick - Best coach in the NFL and that is comming from a Colts fan.

Belichick has the highest win percentage of any coach in the NFL. If that does not make you the best I dont know what does.

Well lets think about this here. Belichick's career record is 124-84, which is .596 winning percentage while Shanahan is 140-86 for .619 (so no Redline, he does not have the best winning percentage). Shanahan has also enjoyed success just about everywhere he's been while Belichick was run out of Cleveland after only posting 1 winning record in 5 years there.

Those are the facts.

Now if we want to talk about opinions, I think the Patriots made Belichick and not the other way around. He sucked in Cleveland and the Patriots haven't looked the same since Romeo Crennel and Charile Weis left.

Shanahan on the other hand, had Denver in the AFC Championship in his 2nd year and won back to back Super Bowls in his 3rd and 4th years. His only losing season with the Broncos came in 99 after we won the Super Bowl when Elway retired and we lost TD, Sharpe and John Mobley within the first half of the season. Even then, he was only a few lucky bounces away from 9-7. Shanahan made Brian Griese and Jake Plummer look like good quarterbacks, turn absolute nobodies into 1500 yard rushers and ALWAYS has his team in the hunt despite still trying to reload from the Super Bowl years.

Belichick is definetly a good coach, and I don't believe the margin between him and Shanny is that great, but any sensible person who looks at the bigger picture is going to take Shanahan over him.

man tht evertett story makes me sad i was watching the game when it happened scary stuff now doctor say he has very little chance of gaining full movement back and they have him breathing through a resperator my heart goes out to his family and i wish him a full recovery.

That really sucks. Hope a miracle happens and he recovers. :(

same here......... its real sad to see a player go down like that

i dont care if he ever plays football again i just want him to be able to recover to have a health life and enjoy time with his family cause in the end thts all the matters football is just a game.

Youre not sensible imo, you are biased as is gt40 towards Billichick, but Im not since I dont root for either team. In fact I would go against New England anytime I can.

Lets break this down
First lets start with your boy

1988 Raiders - 7-9
1989 Raiders - 8-8

Playoff appearances - 0 (Id hardly consider that success as you mentioned in your post)

Playoff Pct - 0% (0/0 appearances)

1995 Denver - 8 - 8 missed playoffs
1996 Denver - 13 - 3 Divisional game loss
1997 Denver - 12 - 4 SB win
1998 Denver - 14 - 2 SB win
1999 Denver - 6 - 10 missed playoffs
2000 Denver - 11 - 5 Wild card game loss
2001 Denver - 8 - 8 missed playoffs
2002 Denver - 9 - 7 missed playoffs
2003 Denver - 10 - 6 Wild card game loss
2004 Denver - 10 - 6 Wild card game loss
2005 Denver - 13 - 3 AFC title game
2006 Denver - 9 - 7 missed playoffs

Playoff appearances - 7, 3 AFC title games, 2 SB Wins

Playoff Pct - 58% (7/12 season)
AFC Title Game Pct - 42% (3/7)
Title Pct - 28% (2/7)

That means he has made the playoffs 58% of his games with Denver and really other than 2005 didnt pose any serious threat to go to the Super Bowl, espcially with 3 1st or 2nd round losses and 4 times not even making the playoffs in the 8 years since Elway.

Now lets look at the big sweatshirt

1991 Cleveland - 6 - 10
1992 Cleveland - 7 - 9
1993 Cleveland - 7 - 9
1994 Cleveland - 11 - 5 1 playoff win
1995 Cleveland - 5 - 11

Playoff appearances - 1 wins 1

Playoff Pct - 20% (1/5)
AFC Title Game Pct - 0% (0/1)
Title Pct - 0% (0/1)

Although his stint at Cleveland wasnt stellar at least he took his team to a playoff appearance and even a win unlike Shannahan at Oakland.

2000 New England - 5-11
2001 New England - 11 -5 SB Win
2002 New England - 9-7 missed playoffs
2003 New England - 14-2 SB Win
2004 New England - 14-2 SB Win
2005 New England - 10-6 Divisional Round Loss
2006 New England - 12-4 AFC title loss

Playoff appearances - 5, 4 AFC title games, 3 Superbowls

Playoff Pct - 71% (5/7 seasons)
AFC Title Game Pct - 80% (4/5)
Title Pct - 60% (3/5)

I dont know about you , but Id say Bellichiks playoff resume is better than Shannahans wouldnt you?

If you still dont believe the stats, then correct me if I am wrong but isnt the ultimate goal to win championships. Who has more Billichick of Shannahan.

Bellichick 3 SB wins in 12 total seasons and 3 in 7 seasons with the Pats
Shannahan 2 SB wins in 14 total seasons and 2 in 12 seasons with the Broncos

Yeah thats what I though. The facts remains Denver has not been a viable superbowl contender since the 1998 title season. NE has won 3 since then.
You obvioulsy can think whatever you want and Shannahan is a good coach for sure but he is not currently one of the elite coaches.

I hate the Bengals, I just realized that now. I cant stand the whole "Who Dey" crap and Johnson goes against everything that the NFL and football should stand for.

:nonono:

Bengals rock! Their defense played like it should and has done in the past. Last year the defense wasn't up to par....but in the past few years they have shown their ability to create turn-overs which often accounts for some of their points each game. Last year they were lacking this strong defense and these turnovers, and thus the points to win games at times. Hope this is a good sign that our defense is ready to get physical and take that ball back.

Chad really isn't as bad as he seems. A lot of things I hear about him are very positive....and a lot of sports guys on TV recognize that he is great for NFL. Yeah, he might show-boat a little bit, but its in a positive, good hearted manner. He seems to love the game and plays his ass off. So what if he's a bit cocky and celebrates.....he's really not that arrogant in comparison to others like TO who have just created lots of problems. Anyways, not saying he's an angel, but from all that I have seen of Chad in the past years, he seems like a good guy who is a great player. Besides, the worst thing he probably did was that checklist of guys who couldn't cover him. But funny thing is that he was pretty much right on all of them.

I like 85, hes on my fantasy team :)

I have him on one team too. He's inconsistent though sometimes. Sometimes he barely gets a pass his way....other times he explodes. A lot of teams have started to double cover him most of the time which makes it that much harder to get some fantasy points out of him. TJ Whosyamomma can lay down some consistent stats though as a decent 2nd WR on fantasy teams.

Yeah the league I am in, is the stangnet league and the draft was kinda weird. It was automatic all you did was rank the players by position and then what position you want to draft in each round.

Imo it would have been better to just pick whatever player you want at your pick but whatever works.
