*Cough* Ohio St...Notre Dame...Michigan... :rlaugh:

Can you say overated?

Say that all you want, but Ohio State went to Texas to play the long horns. Michigan went to Oregon to play last year, and Notre Dame goes to USC, Michigan, and UCLA. USC went to Nebraska, Arkansas, Notre Dame, etc.

Notre Dame does stink this year but their schedule is a helluva lot harder than LSUs.

Georgia Tech (3 - 2)
At Penn State (3 - 2)
At Michigan (3 - 2)
Michigan State (4 - 1)
At Purdue (5 - 0)
At UCLA (4 - 1)
Boston College (5 - 0)
USC (4 - 0)
Navy (3 - 2)
Air Force (3 - 2)
Duke (1 - 4)
At Stanford (1 - 3)

harder than lsu's?

they play uhhhh USCw, and BC. the rest of those teams are a joke. come on, all three academies? that's such a joke schedule.

look at lsu's, with florida, USCe, auburn, alabama, kentucky, and va tech.

sure, not all those teams are as high as they were, but they're sure harder than notre dames schedule

I think you SEC guys are significantly over-rating the middle of your conference. Pretty much all major BCS conferences are very similar with the exception of 1 or 2 teams at the top.

Ohio State, Wisconsin, Cal, Oregon, UCLA, Purdue, Michigan State, Penn State, and Michigan all could compete with anyone in the SEC except Florida and LSU.

Take out LSU and Florida from the SEC, take out USC from the Pac 10, and the rest of the conferences are pretty even.

Look at the SEC West, three 3-2 teams, one 2-2, and one 1-4 team Pretty average Id say. The East division is quite a bit tougher, but only time will tell who is right.

AP TOP 25 TEAMS
SEC - 5
Big 12 - 5
Pac 10 - 4
Big East - 4
Big 10 - 3
ACC - 3
MISC - 1

TEAMS GETTING VOTES
Big 10 - 4
ACC - 3
SEC - 3
Big 12 - 3
Pac 10 - 2
Misc - 2

Id say thats pretty even, 8 of 11 big 10 teams are ranked or just out, 8/12 SEC teams, 8/12 Big 12, 6/12 ACC, 6/10 Pac 10, 4/8 Big East.

i agree about cal for sure.... but you including michigan has to be a joke? they couldnt hang with ole miss even.

and, yes, our low end guys are given a bit much credit (vandy, ole miss, etc) but mid level (auburn, alabama, USCe, kentucky, etc) would more than likely have the upper hand vs most of the ones you listed. take out cal for sure, and maybe maybe osu and wisconsin (though i havent seen them prove jack this year) and i think the middle guys from the sec win them all.

but, these are all opinions, and everyone's going to stick to theirs. the only way to know is if they play each other, so until then, we just have to stick to what we've got

Wisconsin proved they could hang by beating Arkansas last year. Penn State also beat Tennessee pretty handily as well. Id say those are all mid level conference teams and what do you know the Big 10 did ok.

But as I said florida and LSU are better than about any other team except maybe USC, but the middle of the SEC is not much if any better than the rest of the country. Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, etc are all good but not great. South Carolina is looking pretty impressive this year though with some good wins.

i'll tell you the thing that will stop all of this....

WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!

lol, as if you didnt know that. if they had a freaking well set up play off system, rather than the bcs bs, there would be no "but so and so beat so and so, and so and so had it easier" like there is every year. i mean, last year, michigan kept crying, saying they deserved to play OSU in the NC instead of us. look what happened, OSU gets blown out, and michigan gets creamed. there's no justice till it's a playoff. until then, it's purely opinions and speculation

I agree 100% that we need a playoff, or at the very least a +1 setup. Have #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 then the winners play for the real deal.

But that wont stop the conference vs conference arguments.

i agree, conf vs conf will always be there, but a playoff would solve so so so many arguments over who's the best.... but we wont see that any time soon. it's too hard to change the system, especially when the idiots in charge think the bcs works fine (though it has yet to do so)

I'm stoked...the largest crowd in Tiger Stadium history will be there to see the Tigers annihilate the Gators. A FA-18 at take off thrust will have nothing on the crowd noise in that stadium tomorrow night.

After surveying coaches from around the country, the scariest places to play is this week's list topic.

1. LSU, Tiger Stadium
Three SEC coaches I spoke with who have worked in other leagues say that Tiger Stadium is, by far, the loudest stadium in the country. "It's night, half the place is loaded, the fans have been partying for like 20 hours straight, this is the last place you want to bring a young QB into," says one coach. Just ask Virginia Tech, which got blown out of the Bayou a few weeks back. Last season, the Tigers jumped on everyone early at home; they outscored their opponents 108-7 in the first quarter at Death Valley. This year, they've outscored their opposition 31-7 in the opening quarter. The margin's 68-7 if you just look at the first half.

lol, the scariest place to play..... we've had that discussion on the UF boards, and it's obvious that guy's a tard that made that list. the orange bowl is number 7? what a joke. and VT over UF's? yeah, i dont give credit to that. but still, should be a good game, if the gators come ready to play, that stadium might end very very quiet..... i hope so!

so, as of now, my thoughts about big 10 are being proven. wisconsin was ranked 5th, but i figured it was only cause they havent played anyone.... ron zook is beating them 17-0 atm.... if this holds up, it confirms my thoughts, lol

go gators!

Illinois is a good team, they are ranked #28 in the country in the AP and are 4 - 1 thus far. They were favored to win before the game. Wisconsin is comming back and its turning out to be a good game.

I will give you that Wisconsin is over-rated, but I still stand by my statement that take out LSU and Florida and the SEC is no better than any of the other major BCS conferences with maybe the exception of the ACC because they just suck.

I watched the South Carolina and Georgia game, it was not real impressive. The Auburn Florida wasnt real exciting either. Auburn lost to USF at home. Cal beat down Tennesee, Alabama lost to an average Florida State team.

Last year Wisconin beat Arkansas and Penn State beat Tennesee.

auburn got lucky, if we played the way our 2nd half went, we wouldve demolished auburn, but we didnt, we lost, and we're sucking it up. i think tonights game will be impressive.

also, last year, i couldnt believe the bowl games. arky should have had mcfadden play QB, their guy sucked donkey balls, and penn state winning was such a fluke. it just flat out sucked.

anyways, i'm sick of arguing all this crap. leave it at we're all equal in general, the only thing that separates us is opinion.

oh, and GO GATORS!

Of course all SEC loses are flukes I forgot.
