Shopping for a 99 Cobra, some q's

Ok, here's the deal, I'm shopping for a 99 Cobra and I'm a little worried about the recall that I've been reading about, where some Cobras weren't putting down the advertised 320 hp, since it's been about a decade since then should I still be concerned about the recall when I'm shopping? I'd rather get the 99 at a cheaper price than spending a little more on the 2001 when they're essentially the same car...any advice?

I would not worry about the Fix as a major factor for not buying the car. Most of the vehicle's had this done. The TSB otherwise known as the "fix" corrected that issue. I had it done to my old 99 Cobra and noticed a before and after difference. One way you can tell by looking at the vehicle if it was done is a PCM reflash update sticker under the hood. This would most likely be on the front support in front of the radiator. Also a blue or green dot on the intake manifold. They corrected the problem by addressing the intake either acid dipping them or extrude honed them or a new one, reflashed the ecu and replaced the catback with a much less restrictive one. You can call 1-800-FORDSVT and give them the vin.

With the Fix being done, the 99 and 2001 are on par performance wise.
