The 2007 Official College Football Thread

no fricking kidding. do you have any finger nails left? (i would ask if you'd ripped your hair out yet, but you have none, you bald fool).....

but wow, talk about the craziest year ever in the world of college football. nothing this year makes sense, and the BCS is proving to be the biggest joke in the world. oh well, that's how it goes i guess :dunno:

Dude...I've chewed them down the second knuckle. I have never ever seen one team go through so many last minute, crazy endings.

I left work a little early and listened to the 1st quarter on the radio. Got home at the beginning of the 2nd. At half time I was so pissed I changed out of my work clothes into street clothes and an LSU Hawaiian shirt I've never worn before. It has become my new lucky shirt.

ugh, fsu is shooting themselves in the foot, and bc is being helped by the refs (talk about a bad spot on that last play).....

i just hope bc doesnt win, if they do, this will be another bulls**t "matt ryan had a heisman moment to end the game" story, which, IMO, does NOT AT ALL define a heisman candidate. a true heisman winner plays 60 minutes (minus defensive plays) of good football, with not a lot of problems. not 2 minutes of good football to accompany the other 58 minutes of pure crap play, like matt ryan does.....

ugh!

thank god blobby's team held on for the win.

sucks to be matt ryan and the overhyped boston college.....

the espn page that has the heisman candidates and what will happen to their rankings after their most recent games entertained me a lot. tebow and dixon both have green arrows pointing up. matt ryan? a big fat red arrow pointing down.

the quote below matt ryan made me literally lol....

"When you're the quarterback of the No. 2 team and you lose to an unranked squad, it's bad. When you throw more picks (3) than touchdowns (2), it's worse. Ryan finished with 408 yards on 25-of-51 passing."

I think the thing you guys are failing to realize is that the reason Notre Dame gets the bowl bids they do is because they will bring more $$, more tv ratings, and more people than anyone else.

College football is just like everything else, its all about the $$. The bowls get to pick what teams they want. If you were running the bowls you would do the same thing.

Imo Oregon should jump LSU, best team from imo the best conference this year, is handling its buisness better.

I'm kind of torn on that...If Oregon gets ranked ahead of LSU based on ASU win then once ASU loses a few more then that win won't mean as much. Plus that was a home game and LSU went to Tusca lose-sa to take down Bama. It's hard to say which win is better. If you take the season as a whole LSU has more "quality" wins.

I don't know. Oregon has beat more teams with better current rankings than LSU. If you look at the AP, it's 1523 to 1517 for votes for LSU.

While I see what you are saying, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Alabama are most likely going to be unranked come Monday. Florida will move up but still not in top 15. Va Tech was really their only really impressive win and they lost to BC at home.

While UM will be a top 12 team and Oregon annialated them on the road, USC and ASU will be ranked in the top 15 and maybe top 10. Also the only team to beat them was Cal, which both games Cal lost were when their QB was out and the first game he came back when he wasnt 100%.

LSU was killing people early but the last 5 games or so they have been struggling to pull out wins, I mean take yesterday Bama had the ball tied in the 4th with a chance to win if they could drive it down the field but fumbled and LSU got it on the 1 yard line or so. Alabama while it was a road game is not that great. Meanwhile Oregon has been drilling teams and yesterdays game wasnt as close as the score indicated and that was against the #4 team in the nation.

Of course that is all subject to change depending on what both teams look like the rest of the way including the champ game. But LSU wont get jumped and I dont have a vote so my opinion means nothing :)

It's all relative. There are arguements both ways. I know Oregon has been playing tough. I watched part of that game yesterday. Their QB is phenomenal.

Really my assumptions are based on thier rankings when they played. Things change as time goes on but at the time they played they were ranked teams. It goes both ways. I'm not taking anything away from Oregon though. They are tough.

ASU was over-rated. They will begin a free fall as they play the tougher teams now. Again I'm not taking away from Oregon but you can say the same for LSU/VT. It all plays out by the end of the season.

Ahhh...just leads to all the drama and speculation. Doesn't hurt to voice your opinion. :nice:
