yeah, but it's a lot harder to win 6 games in the sec than in the big 10. also, all those stats you pointed out, yeah, they happen, just like UF's crazy losses happened. i'll give you that UGA handed us our ass, but LSU and AU were both close close games that we lost by a margin of a hair. and IMO tenn does not have the easiest ride to the sec champ game, UGA does.
A loss is a loss, by 1 or by 50. Doesnt matter if its by a hair, your team ****ed it up oh well. If they are a top team they will beat the good teams ranked highly, they didnt. /story.
If Tennesee wins out they win their divison, Id say thats the inside track to the SEC title game. They are the ones who control their own destiny.
the main thing this does is just show how stupid the bcs is, and that a playoff is so hugely needed. if teams can be number one having played nobody, just to get shown up later on (OSU last year and this year), then something is pretty dang wrong.
I agree we need a playoff, but Boise State and Utah who both played an easy schedule proved they belonged in the BCS. Ohio State did win a BCS title already.
2002 - OSU vs #1 Miami - Win
2003 - OSU vs #10 Kansas State - Win
2004 - OSU vs Oklahoma State - Win
2005 - OSU vs #9 Notre Dame - Win
2006 - OSU vs #2 Florida - Loss
2002 - UF vs #11 Michigan - Loss
2003 - UF vs #12 Iowa - Loss
2004 - UF vs #11 Miami - Loss
2005 - UF vs Iowa - Win
2006 - UF vs #1 OSU - Win
Id say if anything OSU proved they belong more than Florida in the short BCS history.
and, yes, i'll still say that UF is one of the best teams in the country. two of our losses were so close, they were almost wins, and that's just how college football goes. any team can lose any game any day, you never know. some teams just have it easier to avoid that with those cake schedules.
Of course you think Florida is still a top team, you are a fan of them.
Will you give it up on the OSU cake schedule BS. Its not their fault the Big 10 is down. They play who is on their schedule it just happends that this year for the first time in a while they have a crappy non conference (like most SEC teams do all the time). The only difference is the big 10 is down.
This was the one year that was supposed to be a rebuilding year between them playing Texas who was a top 5 team both years and next year starting a two year with USC also a year in year out top 10 team and 2 time national champion in the past 5 years or so.
When was the last time Florida played a top 5 team out of conference, not including last years bowl game. I dont see Florida running to play West Virginia, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Cal, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. They play ****ty Florida State.
