....ok before u say, knockin noise? no its not the motor, thank god :nice:

as i start to come to a complete stop, sometimes ill here just one knock... i know my AODE is slowly on its way out, i thought maybe it was somethin loose on it and hitting? but it feels as if its coming from somewhere under my feet to the left... could it be suspension or a bushing or somethin?

if this is true, it sounds like a front a-arm bushing or end-link.

Although, if it was a bushing, you would think the "knock" would happen more than once.

I'd look at your bushings and go from there. Eliminate one possible source.

is it okay to drive around like this? i noticed the knock noise a few times today while taking off as well, not all the time... but if it is a bushing, u think i could wait until we have some better weather to replace everything up front?

im planning on goin with the 03/04 cobra control arms, bumpsteer kit, and while im at it, the bushings as well...

In theory, you should never drive a car with any kind of knock.

But, if the noise has been present for awhile, and drivability hasn't seemed affected, then I would say you could drive it, just be somewhat cautious.

Good call on the 03/04 stuff.

Loose brake caliper? Had a guy I worked with lose a caliper mounting bolt somehow and his front end knocked like no tomorrow. He couldn't find it for the life of him and took it to like Midas or Meineke to get it checked. They did an inspection for free and told him the problem. They tossed a new bolt in for him for a grand total of like $20.

ironic cuz someone said that to me this morning about a brake caliper... gotta get that checked out... would that cause it to stop incorrectly?

If you lost the caliper entirely, it would definitely cause you to stop incorrectly. Especially if the caliper came off the mount and you hit the brakes. It'd probably eject the pistons from the caliper and you'd dump brake fluid like no tomorrow. Is it pulling at all to one side when you're stopping? I just figured it was worthy of mention when trying to track down a clunk, since I know of someone it has happened to in the past. I don't think his braking was affected at all though.

driving conditions are still normal as day... but ill take a look at it either way, atleast i can cancel out somethin or fix the problem :nice:
