The Official kiddiccarus 2007 NFL Thread

My money is on the Pats, and contrary to popular belief i think it will be some what of a blowout. The Giants have indeed earned it but i just don't think they've got it when it counts.

+1, they held their own the first time around but this is a whole different ball game. Belichick took away from that game what he needed to prepare for the next week and formulate a plan that will take the Giants down. Eli is going to see things on the defensive side that hes never seen before.

That's what was said about the Chargers too.. The Chargers were an awesome team coming into that game, they pulled all of the ideas from the Pats previous games.. but look what happened. 0 TD. You can only hold the Pats offense down for so long, but the defense will be stepping up to fill the void.

The Giants were heavily aided by Patriots penalties on critical 3rd downs in that game, which kept drives alive for Eli... I don't see that happening again.

You really think the Pats took nothing away from that game and the Giants gained soooooo much from one game (which not all of the Pats starters were playing in)? G-men couldn't sack Brady until the 3rd quarter and that's with 2 backups on the O-line for the Pats... I don't see them getting past the starters as much as they need to in order to win the game, especially with the G-men being sick or recovering from the flu. G-men could shut down Dallas and Green Bay, but those two teams didn't have the combined depth at WR/TE/RB that the Pats do... Shut down Moss and Welker? Ok... Give the ball to Stallworth, Faulk, Gaffney, Watson, Vrabel or Maroney... Shut down Moss and Stallworth? Ok.. Give it to Faulk, Gaffney, Maroney, Watson, Vrabel or Welker.. Gaffney will probably play a big role in this game because he seems to be a guy that teams have all but forgotten about while trying to cover Welker, Moss and/or Stallworth. They used Watson to block for most of that game against the Giants since they had 2 starters from the O-line out of the game, but don't expect to see him blocking.. he'll be running down field and making plays to keep the chains moving, 7 or 8 yards at a time. Faulk is probably the most underestimated player on the Pats; he can block, catch the ball, run the ball.. do whatever is needed to get another first down or get into the endzone and is very hard to tackle, much like Welker. I could go on and on, but i'm tired of typing and not wanting to start any crap. :flag:........ Sometimes I wonder if i've watched all of the Pats games from this season too much lol; mainly the games against the Giants, Ravens, Eagles, and Chargers

Chargers had a MUCH better chance at beating the Pats than the Giants do.

NY Giants are just the '07 Colorado Rockies of the NFL... gonna get cut down by the Boston Reality-Check Buzz-Saw... They'll be lucky to get 21 points on the Pats Defense after Belichick has been given 2 weeks to prepare and seeing the way they played in the AFC Championship..

38-17, Patriots.. should be returning to early-season form due to the controlled climate.

Jason,
Maybe you didn't know the Chargers played the Pats when their QB had a torn ACL? Their star TE was gimpy. The best player on their team (LdT) was injured and couldn't play.

The Pats got some very questionable calls in their favor in the week 17 game. If that doesn't happen again...
If Eli doesn't throw that pick...

Etc. I believe the Giants have a slim chance of pulling this one off.

All he was doing was rephrasing what redline said.. calm down

I wasn't trying to seem hot-headed about anything.. I'm not mad or anything about anything said in this thread. My bad guys :nice:

Honestly, I won't count the G-men out of the game.. after all, they did have to go thru Dallas and Green Bay to get here.

thats the dumbest thing so far in this thread. First of all Giants lost that first game, second of all you dont think brady has seen everything that can be thrown at him by now :rlaugh:

Go ahead, keep thinking they have a chance, its funny

Wrong.
1. The "dumbest thing" on this thread was your very first post. You may have topped it for dumbness by continuing to post.

2. The Giants did lose, but only by a wisker. The final score was 35-32 or something like that. In fact, the Giants were up qute a bit as late as the 3rd quarter. You must be thinking of a different game.

3. If you asked Tom Brady if he has seen every possible thing that could be thrown at him, his answer would of course be "no!". Are you kidding? If you really believe the statement you made (Brady has seen everything...) you have far less knowledge of the NFL than what most of us suspected. It's easy to tell you have not been a football fan for long.

Good day sir.

The best defensive schemes Brady will see this season are already behind him.. Ravens, Eagles and Chargers.

Perhaps. However, Brady is not so dumb as to think he's seen it all or knows all tricks. Good defensive coordinators can think "outside the box" and come up with some new plays.

Spags is from the Jim Johnson Eagles school and from what I've seen, he's a pretty clever guy. In fact, no less than 3 teams have suggested Spags as a head coach candidate. One thing that no one that knows the Giants can debate: Spags is the 1st defensive coordinator (for the Giants) that has been able to make effective in-game adjustments. The Giants have not had a good DC since John Fox went to the Panthers.

Osi and Strahan are monsters, so I expect to see them all over the place in this game... whether it's sacking Brady or just hitting him as he lets go of the ball, they're going to be everywhere making their presence felt. I have a lot of respect for those two guys, they're just unbelievable in what they do... I hope Strahan comes back next season and doesn't retire.. he's very refreshing.

I do anticipate the G-men to be moving around a lot on defense before the snap, so Brady can't get quite as good of a read on them as if they were just sitting in their places.. that seems to work a little better, but nobody has been able to find a definitive answer tho.

Wrong.

getting pretty personal for being a mod. You should hold your self to a higher standard then trying to insight personal attacks between board members

so since when did losing games by a whisker not count as losing the game? No Im thinking of the correct game, the game the GIANTS LOST

Brady has always been humble, hes never going to say anything like that regardless of its the truth or not. Hes been to and won 3 Superbowl's and endured the leagues best defenses this year trying to get under his skin and beat the patriots. Ravens, Eagles, Steelers, Cowboys, Giants, Indy all had good defenses, yet no one could do anything to stop the offensive machine of the patriots. I seriously doubt that Coughlin and the dumb ass giants are going to come up w/ some type of scheme that gets brady all confused and he wont know what to do  , I think your thinking of the wrong QB in this game.

Seems like all you can seem to do is take my posts and take out Patriots and put in Giants b/c you say everything I do just in the opposite direction as Ive often said how Manning will see things hes never seen before. Your team really lack that much clout where you cant think of anything on your own?

Actually the best of them is the youngster named Justin Tuck. Watch for him.
