I just bought a set of 18x9 saleen replicas and I need tires but am unsure what size. The site said 245/40/18 but i thought that a 275/40 or something like that. Or should I run two different sizes?

Up front, I wouldn't go anymore than 255/45(what I have). On the rear, you can go to 295/45(what I have)on the 9" wheel. If you want to rotate your tires, don't go different sizes.

On my car I went with the following tire setup.

18*9 FR500: 265/35/18

18*10 FR500: 285/35/18

With these tire sizes I only have two complaints. The ride is about 50% more harsh than with the "off road" tires that come with S197's. My second complaint is that even after lowering the car with FRPP K springs, the low profile of the tire does not fill out the wheel well as much as I would like. This is probably due to the 6" lift that comes on these cars stock. I will resolve this by taking out half a coil from the K springs though. Other than those two things, I am very pleased with the tires sizes. Handling is much better, a whole different car.

For 18*9 though, I would recommend 265/40/18 all around. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone try going with a 275/45/18 ...would a little more tire help ride quality..??

That would be optimal. I mean really, with a tuner, you can put pretty much any size tire on the back, so long as it fits on the rim. You can always fix the speedometer and that with the tuner. The more meat the better, in my opinion. Stock we have a 26.5" wheel/tire combo. My track setup is 28" and still has plenty of room.

This is one of the reasons I picked the Nitto! The 295/45(28.3")on the 18x10 wheel fills up the rear gap nicely, then I dropped it 1.5" in the back and it is very nice! I wouldn't mind trying the 305/45-18 which is 28.8", but not quite sure if that would squeeze up in there now.

That size sounds good, but the only thing I see in that size is the Nitto 555R. I need something that can see rain.
