Short-block coming my way

Awesome, Matt!!

It's a big bite to swallow, but having that short block will be peace of mind when you want to turn up the boost. That's why I bought my beefy short block so I could play harder.

Of course, you will now eat up transmissions and rear ends, buy bigger fuel pumps, bigger injectors, cage the car, mini tub it for for bigger tires, need larger brakes to slow the beast, and your medical bills will be gigantic after all the operations to take the silly grin off your face.

So a $4500 short block really costs are $50,000, but it sure will be sweet! :D

It was go big or go home, so big it went. I told the guy I was looking for 700whp if needs be. And on the tranny side I have a brand new t-56 to go behind it, and a rear will be built for it to.

O yeah, forgot to put in it's going to be 331 stroker too. :)

O I haven't, I'm going AEM stand-alone in a few. I already have a SCT tune for it to get her going, then I'm going to take it back to HP Ranch and he'll finish fine tuning it and see what numbers it makes.

The T-5 going in my blue LX. I've had no 2nd gear in that car in like 2 yrs.

Tyler, If I can pull on your car when I'm done I'll be happy, lol

Matt,

If you are planning on doing an AEM, buy it from Bob Kurgan, of Kurganmotorsports.com I recently did.

Feel free to e-mail me [email protected] or call me at 360-691-9865 and I will tell you why. It has been a great experience buying the AEM from him and getting his tech support for questions. I should be at the step of firing mine up withing 4 weeks and I am sure that will be a good experience too.

I might have to, I think I can get a tune pretty close myself, "I've read just about everything I could about the AEM," Don't they come with a base stock tune to start out with? I even have the PDF from Trent of Turbomustangs.com on how he setup his AEM. Either way it plugs right into the stock harness so that was the selling point for me.

Hey Matt, jeff would like to buy your old T5 when you pull it(or we can do the swap for ya)

Well here's the thing. The one in my car is a WCt-5 I bought new. I'm going to have the shift-fork replaced, "just doesn't have 2nd," & put it back in. I'm not really sure I want to sell it becaucse I'm saving it all for when my dad decides to buy his fox. I already have a stack of stuff waiting for him.

The AEM system comes with a lousy base tune. It is based off a relatively stock 5.0 set up and will fire the car up. From there the tune will be way off. You can go to the AEM forums and try to find one of the regulars on there that claims to have a tune close to yours. Bub Kurgan has hundreds of cars dyno results saved on disk and can get a car with a set up very close to yours and load that in as the base tune. He does not charge any more for this. So if you pay $1700 for an AEM from someone else you will struggle to get it going. Bob will take your $1700, but give you a tune that is very very close right away, then work with you to make it better via e-mails, data logging, and phone calls. He's the man with these systems.

I can surely tell you more about it if you like. Also, if you do go that route I would like to hook up with you to discuss the system, as there are not many other people around here using the AEM.

Later,
Brandon

I 2nd the AEM from Bob Kurgan. Killer support... :nice:

Nice to see your building her up Matt... Getting a motor built seems like a long azz $$$$$ process but once its done and running.... :D

I can't wait to drive here. I've driven the car 2 months before i ripped into it. Hows yours going theere lyle. Got any numbers,......

Also, John at HP Ranch knows AEM pretty well as well. He has a 9.30 car running AEM.
