If anyone else has had a good experience with RPM Outlet please let me know. This is the second time I have had issues with them. First, it was just a piss poor job in packaging and shipping my items. The boxes were severely damaged and small and fragile items were placed loosely in a larger boxes with no pretection.

The second time I ordered from them, (which happens to be the last time!) I ordered the Drag Pack for like $700. Upon receipt of my items I noticed that I was missing my tuner and the coil packs also, they sent me 7...that's right, 7 boots for the coil connectors. I called back to let them know about my problems and they had to clue what a coil connector was and told me the stuff I was missing was back ordered.

No big deal, right? That's what I thought. After being told "you'll get it next week" every week for the past 4 weeks I was told today that they don't know when I'll get the tuner and that the coil packs are on back order for at least another 90 days. I was being told all this while met with a rude and short attitude.

They wouldn't even offer to send me a replacement of a different brand coil packs that they have in stock. I then asked since they advertised that they were in stock and they obviously haven't been and won't be for another 3 months, if I could get a credit back for the value of the coil packs and use it towards a brand they had in stock. They told me; "I'm sorry but we would be happy to sell you another set." Don't even think about asking to speak to a manager or supervisor. You'll just get transfered to voice mail and never get a call back.

Lastly, don't be fooled by thier free shipping...they charge a "residential option" charge, which was like $11. Again, the shipping was poorly done on the parts I did get. ALL my boxes were crushed severely and my pulleys and new harmonic balancer were sent loosely all together in one UPS 2 day envelope with not one single one of them wrapped in bubble wrap or any protection.

On the other hand, I have been dealing with UPR now for the past 2 years and I have been meet with nothing but the highest level of customer service and professionalism. Their staff is knowledgeable and treated me great. Their shipping is much better and when I do have a problem they make every effort to make it right. If they can't make it right they sent you a new part at no charge and no shipping and even include a prepaid shipping label to mail the defective part back.

That's my 2 cents. Sorry, I had to vent. I have worked commission sales jobs most my life and been in the automotive business now for a year or so and I treated all my customers as I would treat my own friends or family. I guess I'm a stickler for good customer service. Is that too much to ask?

I hate to see that you have become yet another number when it comes to RPM and their methods. I personally haven't had any problems, though have read many horror stories on this forum and other mustang boards.

also..I'll move this to talk to where it belongs. Oh wait..I'm not a Mod ;)

RPM Outlet was fine for me.

I had a problem with UPR.

But overall I feel UPR is a better company to deal with.

I ordered a TB/Plenum from RPM Outlet and it got here quick, no issues.

Ordered a "Blu Thunder" shifter from UPR, told it would be here 3-4 days... 3-4 days no shifter. Called UPR and they said they were not in stock and it would ship out 2-3 days again, be there in 5 or so. A week passes, NO CALL NO SHIFTER... I call them back, "oh we still dont have them it will be another..." then before he finished I told him just to cancel my order.

They didnt cause a scene about it but it WOULD be nice to recieve a call explaining the situation, or at least a heads up like "hey it MIGHT take this long before they ship" every time I called.

A lot of times the person you are talking to has what they think is good information. Sometimes things happen they do not know about or beyond their control. With the volume of business UPR does I'm sure they do not have the man power to call each customer when a delay occurs but in the past I've received email alerts from companies I've dealt with. Just some info from someone who used to be in the customer service biz.

I understand where you are coming from completely. The guy I talked to though didnt seem as if it was too big a deal.

Im not knocking UPR, I know they do have great products and their customer service is good (nothing went wrong, no one was rude, no problems refunding my balance).

I was just frustraited because they kept pushing the ship date back further, further, and further.

I bought my camshafts and valvesprings/retainers from them. Honestly it was one of the better experiences. Called them and had everything ordered, I asked the guy to double check to make sure it was the correct parts, and they were shipped in as fast as any other place I've ordered from.

Most places have free shipping like Summit but they still charge a handling/packaging fee.

Well I have had no problem getting what I ordered. Everytime I order, its at my house in 3 days. But I just put new cams and I bought new gears because everybody says you need them. Well I have a 2004 gt and my stock cam gears unbolted and I reused. So Iam trying to ship back for store credit and cant get any help. I called today and they told me that they have just moved in a new building. Of course customer service was gone home when I called, so I ll call in the morning.

I Have had problems with RPM Outlet. I bought that TB Spacer thing couldn't install it because it physically pushed the inlet tube out too far and they wouldn't take it back!!! Never even used it!

i ordered the PI intake manifold with aluminum crossover from RPM outlet, it arrived in 3 days after I made the order and packaging was fine, manifold was surrounded by air bags. That is my only experience with them and it was positive.

I've only ordered one thing from RPM and evertything was ok. I guess it's hit and miss with these companies. I bought a cat back system for my Mazda B-4000 from a company in New York. I don't remember the name of the company. When i recieved the package the exhaust pipe was missing. They tried to blame UPS for the shipping error. There was a small hole in the package but not enough for the exhaust pipe to fall off. They did ship me a new one. I don't knoe if I'll use them again. Pearl02.

I ordered from them for my 04 chevy truck..not a problem one..I ordered from them on sat...I ordered a plenum and TB..the plenum arrived and after receiving only the plenum I learned that the TB was on back order..it is a BBK 75mm..so hopefully I will get it soon so I dont have to post a hate message...I live close to them..but they are only web and mail order..or at least they were when I bought the items for my truck..

ok..now Im not happy..they BBK TB was out of stock..and received the intake plenum today..(C&L)...and the damn thing was broken..and not in transit..it was packaged that way..and there is no way anyone who is packaging it would have not seen it..the plenum is powder coated black..and that was the first think I noticed...it stuck out..C&L is supposed to be shippin me a new one...so we will see...so far Im still in the neutral zone with them...haha...

So, her's an update on my experience. I installed my pulleys (the ones wrapped in paper towels and places in an envelope). They went on without a hitch. The tuner came in the mail...finally, after 5 weeks. Everything with that went well. But AGAIN they forgot my rubber boot for the coil connecter. I called and kepts gettign passed around until I ended up transfered to customer service where i sat anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes before getting frustrated and hanging up. I voiced my concern to one of the sales guys and his exact words were, in a smart ass tone of voice were, "Sorry, you'll just have to wait as long as we feel like keeping you on hold. I'm not going to help you." Oh well, try try again...

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but, after 7 weeks and many phone calls resulting in being put on hold for 30 or more minutes, i finally got rpm outlet to substitute one of the parts they havnt sent me. the same parts that they advertised in stock when they were on back order for a minimum of 120 days. I had to put op a fight and they werent happy about doing it but i think i might finally get everything i ordered.

anyways, i wouldnt recommend rpm outlet...at all.
