Pics of my parts awaiting install.. Finally

dude ur gonna absolutely LOVE teh fr500 steering wheel... i just installed mine 2 weeks ago... its SOOO comfortable... just be careful if u use leather cleaner on it...g ets a little slippery LOL

I know.. I'm a repeat customer :D You wouldn't believe the difference a damn steering wheel makes, but it really does make the car different to drive..

compressing the rear calipers is rocking my world at the moment.. 6 hours and counting into that job..

I feel your pain, I'm still sore from doing the same thing on Sunday. The calipers would rotate, but they wouldn't go back in. I had to apply some pressure to the caliper for several turns and THEN the piston rotated in.

To make life easier (and since I was replacing the rotors too) I loosely bolted the caliper bracket onto the axle (without the rotor) and put the caliper back on the bracket. Without the rotor in place, I could then rotate the piston without having to balance the caliper at the same time.

It also helps I bought a specialty tool specifically for this. It still slips off the piston if I'm not careful. :fuss:

Yeah, theres no way I could hold it.. I also bolted it back up... I finally got em done without the tool... I will take pics tomorrow of all four crossdrilled rotors..

Now I need to get like a t-55 torx to get the steering wheel off...

t50... u got the puller too right?

good luck grasshopper... i wish you well... btw, dont forget to unplug the battery! :D lol jk!

Yeah, I have the puller.. I have ALL the torx bits at MY house too, but I will buy another t50 (thank you) tomorrow...

The brakes are VERY noticeable and I highly recommend the rotors I bought (off ebay actually)...
I was skeptical but they actually are Genuine Brembos and PBR's which were then drilled, slotted, and zinc coated by the second party. They were a hair over $300 after shipping....

Can't say I'm a big sticker fan, but I'll roll with this one for a little while....

don't those speaker pods get in the way?

nope.. And I have size 14 feet, lol... It's more in the way on the passenger side than on the driver side because you kinda sit at an angle to clear them.. But thats not my problem and no one rides with me... The sound staging you get from them along with the other speakers is amazing.
