Going for a dyno this weekend on the new engine. What do you guys think I'll get at the wheels?

Running 347 stroker .040 over
-Airgap rpm manifold
-Patriot SBF heads
-Crane energizer 1.6 roller rockers
-Comp roller cam 230 duration @ 0.05 / .544 lift
-Msd 6al
-Holly 670 cfm street avenger
-10.5 compression
-4sp toploader
 
Squidz you got me interested, I am in a similar situation and am also running a 347 (302) .30 over with just a dual plane intake, X303 cam, 351 heads with larger valves, holly 750, MDS
6al, 1.6 rockers, C4.
Anyone out there want to take a stab at this combo?

I didn't know the heads were that bad?!?! what about a port/polish or should I just get a pair of afr 185's..... and do the afr's justify the gain?? what improvement should I expect?
 
I was gonna post yesterday that those numbers aren't bad, but if you're looking for a part to be mad at, the Patriot heads are the likely ones. They're chinese made ripoffs of AFRs with terrible QC and in general are incredibly ****ty (I believe I said that in another of your threads, perhaps it was someone else's though). But yeah, the Patriots are massive aluminum turds. Spend the money for real AFRs or Trick Flows or Performer RPMs.
 
I don't know about the patriots, but the procomps can be ported and made to flow close to Victor Jrs . . .

Imagine less than World Products quality out of the box and we're still under that.

Where do you live? If you are in GA, I work for a guy that ports heads for a living (does matherly's Real Street car among others)

As this guy says, tt might be cost-effective to look into porting to correct some of the manufacturing defects the Patriots seem to have. While they suck stock, mostly because of cheap manufacturing, a good port job might fix all of that I suppose.

Might as well try, you wont' get much trying to sell them (and if you did, I'd feel bad for the poor guy you stuck em with lol). If you port them and still don't pick up power, Trick Flows or AFRs have never let anyone down.
