Suggest a good cam for me that will have good power and street manners, here is what I have

Stock Bottom end freshened up
Stock push rods, lifters and rocker arms
Stock GT40 heads
Edlebrock RPM Air Gap intake
Edlebrock 600 Carb
BBK Shorty headers
Off road X pipe
Flowmaster mufflers
5 Speed Tranny

A stage 1 or even an F303 would be a great cam for that setup....but i would strongly recommend upgrading the stock GT40 valve springs if you haven't done so yet.

Personally i'd also trade in that Edelcrock-o-$hit carb for a Holley :D

I definetely agree with the 303 cam but not the f cam if you are using this thing as a street car I would stay with the frpp stuff but I would go b303 or e303 you can run these cams with no clearance issues between the valves and the pistons and both of these cams make excellent power for the guy that wants to drive this thing to work m-f and to the stip on saturday not to say the f cam is a bad cam just really depend on what you gonna use the car for I would suggest posting some idea as what your going to do with the car and be using it for then see what people suggest don't be afraid to do some research on suggestions what one person likes doesn't mean you'll like it

There are better OTS cams than the alphabet cams for your type of setup..... with better driveability and performance as well. Do plan on upgrading the GT40 heads with the correct valve train for any choice of cam you select though.

What are your reasons for thinking the F isn't a good street cam? I'm running an X right now and they're virtually the same cam except for more lift on the X. In fact the F has a 114lsa vs a 112 on the X so it's gonna lope less and be more street friendly than the X, and i wouldn't hesitate driving my X as a DD.

I agree though there are plenty of cams that are better than the Ford cams, but you can't go wrong with any of them if they're matched up with the rest of the combo. My X may be old school but it still screams.

If you're planning on sticking with the rest of your combo for a while, you really can't go wrong with a custom cam...there really is a huge difference and it's worth the cash.

My buddy's GT is an excellent example of this. His cam is .628 lift on the intake and .585 lift on the exhaust, has gobs of durration and i think around 108 lobe separation...you would think with that rowdy of a cam it wouldn't be bumper to bumper traffic friendly, but aside from having to take off from a stop at a slightly higher RPM, it's pretty tame for that much cam. It'll buck a little around 1500rpm but overall once you get used to it you can drive it anywhere...and when you step on the gas it just explodes.

Thanks for the info. I am on a strict budget, I will probably go with the E cam or may just throw the stock cam back in, not for sure, just depends on what I can come across for the right price.

That's pretty much why i'm running the X...i got it super cheap and it works pretty good with what i've got so i'm rockin it. If i had the cash i'd probably go with a TFS1 or a custom cam.
