Buying new hood, thoughts?

Which hood do you prefer?

Hey everyone, hope you're enjoying the summer driving months. Well I thought that I'd just put in the roush suspension kit on my car this summer (since I want to see what the '10 mustangs look like and if they have a 5.0L and if they have a convertable hardtop, I know its a longshot but who knows right... if they do I'm still 100% in for a new one).

That being said I ended up getting some pretty nasty scratches on my hood/fender and after trying to fix it myself (I thought worst case scenario is that I still have to take it in to the body shop) I'm not 100% satisfied with it, so I'm going to use it as an excuse to upgrade my hood.

Anyone have any preferences or comments on either of these hoods? Do you know if any of them might cause clearance issues if I were to put a supercharger on eventually?

Lastly has anyone seen any of these in black (other than the one that is already in black)? How does it look? If anyone is handy with photoshopping (and its not too tough) I'd love to see them in black, especially the red cervinis hood.

Thanks again everyone, looking forward to your feedback.

Matty

I do really really like the Saleen hood, its by far my favorite but I can't seem to find one for a reasonable price (cheapest I've found is $999 plus shipping to Canada which is a pain, the dealer and Saleen Canada are even more).

If I didn't have to change the whole front end for the Gt500 look (including my Saleen headlights) I'd lean toward that too. The steeda looks good to me but on first glance its not really noticeably different from the stock (well at least according to a couple friends and the gf all of whom aren't into mustangs), I can tell the difference as most of us can, but that being said we all can probably tell difference between an '07 and an '08 by feeling the radio knobs and not even looking at the car.

Is there anyone I might be able to lean on for a photo-chop of the cervinis heat extractor in black, or even better yet have a picture of one in black?

Thanks,

Matt

Kooldawg6, that looks awesome! Thanks again, you've helped me make my decision, I love it.

If you don't mind me asking do you use photoshop or something else to change the colors? How do you still keep the reflections and different tones? I used to have photoshop on my computer at work (and have an old copy at home I need to revisit) but unfortunately the one at work is giving issues with the authentication of the licence and I haven't been able to play much. I kinda wanted to get rid of the white stripes (but couldn't even do that), if you have time (and if its not difficult) would it be possible to fill the white stripes with black, if you don't have time or its a pain don't worry about it, its sold me on the hood anyway (now I just want to put it up as my screensaver haha).

Thanks again!
Matt

I just made a second layer over top of the original and used "color" function then went back and erased the top layer so the original showed through. I can tinker with it to see if I can get it to look decent without the stripes.

Steeda 2" cowl hood..But before I do that, I need to go faster first to play the part of the go-fast hood

Have a 4 inch cowel. Quite common place at the strip. Don't see many on the street and for good reason...vision obscurement. 4 inch is too much for regular street use. 2" cowl...lot more practical.

of the two choices, i vote boy racer. i like the way it flows better than the cervinis hood. there are so many hoods out there, it is hard to narrow down the choices to the perfect one!
