I had my day on the dyno today, and I must say I am not very happy.

My setup:
Vortech V2 SQ S-trim 10psi aftercooled
38# Injectors
217lph Focus SVT pump
5 spd
3:27 rear end
Diablosport predator
Pypes O/R X pipe
SLP Loudmouth 2 cat back

I had a total of 352.9 rwhp
and 372.2 rwtq

Those numbers arent bad but here is the kicker, They wouldnt try anything much to see what exactly they could net, they loaded a tune they already had from another car with similar setup and installed it. The part I really dont like is the A/F ratio. Looking at everyones dyno sheets their A/F seems to be pretty flat across the board, mine is really crazy. I'll explain the best I can, and scan my printout and upload it later. The following is my A/F numbers:

2200 rpm = 14.9 (Start of logging)
2500 rpm = 14.9
3000 rpm = 13.5
3500 rpm = 12.9
4000 rpm = 12.4
4500 rpm = 12.0
5000 rpm = 11.6
5500 rpm = 11.7
6000 rpm = 12.2

On the graph it is just a huge downhill slope. I dont know yet what my timing is or anything, I have to learn how to use this predator and see what everything is set at.

Any comments are welcomed, suggestions, advise or anything please.

Your first problem is you are running the wrong fuel pump. A 255lph pump was made for the older 5.0 cars. The 4.6L have a returnless fuel system and you will need to get a focus SVT pump or better yet switch to a 03-04 cobra fuel tank and pumps.

I have no idea what a fuel pump and injector duty cycle is, is that something I can find out with this Predator? If so tell me how to find it and I'll let you know. My pump is a Focus SVT 255lph.

My point with the A/F is that everyone else's I see on here is flat across the board somewhere around 11.X and mine starts out so damn high :(

Sorry about the pump confusion, but you should be fine on that end for your power levels.

But you said your tuner wouldnt fiddle with the tune to make the a/f curve better. Well that is your problem, you need to get it properly tuned. Most peoples cars are a custom tune, not just one loaded from a car with similar mods.

yea i hope you didn't pay them a lot of money to get dynotuned and then get someone else's tune...that's a rip off...they are supposed to make a "custom" tune for you...they can base it off of someone else's but everything is not going to be the same...that's total crap...

I don't think you were treated fairly by the tuner. Letting a blown car leave the shop with the a/f's like that is irresponsible.
Your 14's should be 14. 6 or so, and at 3k it should go open loop and see 12.0 or lower and flat lined.
It looks like the other cars tune was used with no adjustment for your maf.

I didn't pay much, $200.00 and wont pay another penny with them. I guess I'll try to get into MPH asap and try to get a good tune. MPH is only 130 miles or so from me.

Pretty close to normal numbers. What size pulley the 3.3 or the 3.6"? Do you have a powerpipe?
I have 3.33 on it now, and no powerpipe. AFM powerpipe was ordered with kit but was delayed in shipping due to guages being on backorder. Powerpipe will be here Friday.

Yes, he loaded the tune from the other car, and made ABSOLUTELY no changes to it. I dont know what my timing is, fuel curve, or anything for that matter. :( I do see in my programmer something about open loop and stuff, should I change that to be open above 3k?

I'm not trying to make huge numbers, but I do want to make safe numbers, but remain efficient and make as much power as I can. I just knew my A/F was screwed when I saw that big ass slope goin downhill. Thanks everyone for their input.

I'm not driving it hard just for that reason :(

I dunno if it makes any difference or not but the dyno guy told me that their dyno reads lower than all others anyways cause of the type that it is. It's a Superflow. Does that have anything to do with it really?

So I just got off the phone with Tim at MPH and based on what he told me is that I was screwed with my tune, They didn't actually tune my car at all. The people used the Diablosport wizard to setup a bull**** tune to get us started off of and that's what is still there. There were no changes made to the tune after it was installed. This is why I hate being so new to this forced induction and tuning. These people ripped me off right in front of my eyes and I didn't know any better. Next, I was told that I could run this Vortech kit with my stock MAF and Tim says I can't. It apparently pegs around 6psi and I am at 10psi now without my AFM Powerpipe. I need to find a 90mm Lightening MAF tonight :( so I can at least go back to these people and watch them closer and get this fixed tomorrow. I knew I should have been closer to 380-400 RWHP than I am but the dyno guy told me their dyno reads lower than others because of it being a Superflow (and I bought that :( ).

So here is where I get mad, I now have a Diablosport programmer that I cant do anything with, I am out of $670.00 that I spent on the dyno tune (or lack there of) yesterday. I have to go see Tim at MPH and spend another $705.00 to have something done by someone that I will trust from now on for all my work.

Sorry about the rant, I'm just aggravated :(

Yea I drove across the state today to get one, and tried to install it and retune, and it didnt work cause it doesn't have AIT sensor on it, So I called Tim and he told me that on 02' and up models you have to install an AIT in the discharge tube aft of the aftercooler, and then wire it up to the two outside wires on my MAF harness. By the time I finally found an AIT it was too late to drill, tap, install, and tune so I will shoot for one day next week.

Are there any of these other unwritten secrets I should know about before going any farther?
