Ok guys im looking to buy a new tranny within the next 2 weeks.. sick of shifting from first to third. What tranny is best bang for the buck?.. will work with my car?.

I would buy new a Rebuilt 3650?

or get a used tko?

i dont wanna spend more than $1200.

make sure you wear protection man:D:rlaugh: jk bro

na but seriously the tko would be a nice trans to put in or a built3650. I know when my trans goes im putting in a t-56 viper spec.

well if you want something that would last too i say get a built 3650 instead of going with a used tko

Looking for a tranny huh? Here ya go :nice:

is that a good or a bad thing?
Well, good in that there's like no downtime for your trans swap, bad that you're getting a rebuilt trans just built up to OEM requirements then have to ship them yours. I'm not all knowledgeable about TR rebuilds, but building my 4R70W to handle 500-550+rwhp in it's sleep cost just over $1,100 when i took it out and just handed it to them on a bench. But that's not factoring the torque converter i bought from a separate company that just slides into the new trans, but that is all the OEM+aftermarket parts and labor.

Edit: Scratch that, $1414 - jeez selective memory. But that's with a lot of extras to ensure it handles where ever i take it. Ford didn't even want to rebuild it, they wanted $2150+labor.

so what ur sayin is iam gettin a tranny that doesnt handle as much power... Or iam getting a tranny that is the same as the one iam putting in.. sorry i just dont understand what ur saying.

Sorry, I'll be more clear. You're getting a used trans that's rebuilt to meet or exceed OEM requirements using basically all OEM replacement parts or cheaper parts that meet OEM requirements. My argument is you could just pay to have yours rebuilt, and for the price of shipping the trans to you and shipping your core back you could add in some extras that wil help out reliability and/or power. But that's assuming you have a competitant non price-gouging shop that specializes in your type of trans like I found.

oooooooo...... so your saying i can take my tranny out... bring it some where and have it rebuilt better for cheaper than what thats going to cost me?
Not 100% for sure since I don't know the TR-3650 world, but that's what I did. At least then you know your starting with a generally good trans that just needs some work and not one that blew up from someone doing 500rwhp launches. You never know, they could open it up and it really doesn't need everything replaced, and if you are on a budget that's great.
