IMO (with the little knowledge i have of the NFL, based on my knowledge of NCAA football) a team "normally" should be able to lose one player (even a qb) and still be sort of OK. they (obviously) wont be AS good, but should not just flat out suck. i mean, take UF for instance.... Tim Tebow is a godsend to us, and if he were out, who knows how much worse we would be, but i feel it wouldnt be TOO terrible having brantly and newton both as backups. but seeing NE with cassel is just a sad sight. i mean, their offense is horrible, and their defense this year is just aweful compared to last year. it's almost like brady gave both sides a drive to win or something. i dunno, but without brady, it seems NE is.... nothing?

:rlaugh: With both of us rooting against them bastids, the Cardinals actually beat them!!! :)

For a while, I could not believe how lucky the Cows were. Play after play they got lucky breaks at every turn, just like last season. Last week they won because Romo missed his intended receiver, the ball skidded off his hands right into Clayton's hands by a freek accident and a touchdown that won the game.

I almost soiled myself with glee when the punt was blocked then run in to end the lucky streak in overtime. What a nail-biter!

I was so pumped when the Cows lost!! I was jumping and yelling, acting like an idiot :D :rlaugh:

I think the Cows are going to be crying after they play the G-men.. they're going to get crushed.

But I do have to say this tho.. crazy things happen in that damned stadium in Arizona (like I said earlier in this thread).. freakish!! Never in NFL history had a game been won in OT by a blocked punt.. crazy!

Cassel holds the ball to long and O'neal sucks

/season.

+1 :(

I think I said it in the previous page, but I figured they'd go after O'Neal early and often tonight.. and they did. :nonono:

That's the second time Cassel has left a receiver standing wide open in the end zone and did not even see them.

**** cassel he sucks!

:nonono: He's soo fricking slow to make decisions and hesitates WAY too long when he DOES make a decision.. wtf.

wow.... this really shows how important tom brady is to NE.... they suck without him!

Everyone has been trying to down play it as much as possible, hes just one guy...he does not make the team..Bull $HIT!!! Patriots suck w/ out Tom Brady, End of discussion!

I agree, unfortunately. They're so used to having Brady and being able to play that way knowing that he will keep it close and (more often than not) bring them back when they're behind. With Brady out there, they can afford to make the little mistakes on both sides of the ball because he keeps his offense out there, gets rid of the ball quickly and doesn't usually make bad throws. He avoids sacks that would've been given up to Cassel or others and keeps the other teams offense off the field, which allows our defense to stay rested and keep the other team held down longer.. I miss Brady. :(

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. I didn't really expect them to beat San Diego and I don't expect the Pats to beat Denver, Indy, or Pittsburgh with Cassel. However, if they squeek out a win in either of those last 3 games then i'll laugh at the inability of the other team. We'll see.. they better come out firing next week.

Brady took alot of pressure off the defense. They were not forced to keep it close, they could make a mistake and allow a TD but still know the offense had what it took to catch back up.

This was the game I saw as where the Patriots really are. A close game or a win means they are still the Patriots we have all seen the past few years. This just showed us that losing a player like Brady is just to much. Cassel stands there and stands there and stands there then gets sacked. He reminds me of bledsoe in that aspect. The Chargers got their redemption over the domination the patriots had over them the past few seasons. I expect many teams to also do the same. The secondary scares me. Oneal is a joke he sucks beyond suck, You cannot give up huge pass plays like that on a regular basis....Oh how I miss samual  You need to sometimes pay players the money they want and not let that kind of tallent go.

Just my observation, not to torment Pats fans:

The Pats looked terrible last night. Missed tackles and general malise on defense last night. Mayo out of position. Cassel was terrible. Just terrible. So many really bad throws to open receivers. This is going to be a LONG season if Cassel doesn't improve. He seemed like a nervous wreck out there.

It's going to be a long season. There were 3 passes to Moss that should've been TD's if he would've gotten them far enough or in the right spot.. but he was either underthrowing him or throwing it too far wide. :nonono:

As unhappy as I was with this loss, I was more pleased with the Cows loss. :D

Mayo played well IMO from what I saw, I didnt watch all of it. Hes a rookie he gets leway

I agree. He was pretty good in shutting LT down for the most part.

Next year, I think our defense will be pretty good (just hope we can fix the secondary).

I honestly think NE should have picked up Chris Simms.. he's better then Cassel IMO and would have given NE a shot at having a good season this year. Cassel isn't looking so hot for them unfortunately. Injuries suck.

In other news, the Dallas game was Fantastic!!!!! :D

Chris Sims sucks, there is a reason hes not playing for anyone. At least cassle has been there and knows the offense to a point. Bringing in someone completely new is just no the best choice IMO despite cassle having issues

Culpepper?

could go w/ out him to. Hes thrown to Randy Moss, does not mean he knows and understands the Patriots offense.

The QB position in New England was to much of an established position, you cant just stick anyone in there and get the same results. It was built around and for Brady. Salvage what they can out of this season but my expectations are not high.
