parts for my mustang coming, and something you may not know

So I just ordered a K&N intake, and the funny thing is that I was going to get gears (3.73:1) but I just couldn't afford to have them installed right now, and of course, I just couldn't wait! So I ordered the intake.

Leaving the shop, my cousin adam calls me and tells me his friend just pulled a set of 3.73's out of his mustang GT to swap in some 4.10's, and I could have them for $75!!!!

BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!!!
He then told me that since I left the honda world and got a REAL car, that he would give me his Cobra's rear diff for free, and I could swap those gears in and buy some Moser 31 splines and have a REAL rear end for a REAL car!

And what you may not know it that my cousin is Michael Hauf, and this is his ride:

He can hook me up with a cam setup from Comp Cams... But that's for next year...

yeah for real i use to have a jackson racing supercharged 00 civic si and it was bad a$$. i like hondas but not the ricer ones. ive had 3 hondas be4 i got the stanky and i got likes and dislike about both but id have to say that honda is a better made car and with the right setup can spank a stang for far less money. i mean come on what other stock motor can you tell me puts out as much horse power per liter. take the s2000 for example 2.0=240hp the stang 4.6= 280 w/e hp and both naturally aspirated. you do the math. but hey good deal on your setup ill be gettin me some gears one day hopefully.

 Are you serious? Less money? Yea i don't think so, i also came from a honda and it was more hassle than the stang. The s2000 may have 240 hp, but what like 10 lb.ft. of tq, and it has to rev to what 9k to make that power? Come on dude buy american and stimulate OUR economy!:flag:

^^^ chill dude trust me i like the stang but if someone handed me the keys to an s2k id break their arm off. the books dont lie and if american was such a better made car then why would they be in the crisis their in neways, oh and excuse me if i havent heard but when did the news come out about honda going under or any other foriegn auto maker for that matter. wha what was that there wasnt. oh i didnt think so. my point exactly.

wow thank you for changing the topic??? I just don't like hondas anymore. If you do. well, good for you. Find a honda forum to brag about them on, lol.

I just thought i'd share about the parts and show you guys a mustang slightly faster than what most of us here have.

EDIT:
That came out kind of harsh. What I mean is, Honda's just don't do it for me anymore. I'm actually contemplating getting license plates for my Dakota that say V8 ORH8 lol...

not to hijack too much...but you understand the primary reason "domestic" automakers are in so much more financial trouble is that they have a lot more debt issues do to health care, insurance and retirement costs than the "import" automakers do right? (I realise that is over simplifies but this isn't the place for a long discourse ;) )...and if you believe everything you read in "the books" about what cars are faster than others you may be real surprised when you get that S2000 to a drag strip :D

anyway....good deal on the 3.73s they are a great mode :nice:

All hondas are trash. All imports are pieces of isht. If anyones got a problem with it, go on a honda forum and mod your little turd roller POS FWD trash. Your either for us or against us and we have no shortage and we've got torque to spare.
So plz, if your on a domestic board and your talking about Hondas and Stangs losing to hondas :Zip2: and :Track: where there won't be any :bs: and you can :hail2: to the REAL cars when we're giving you guys the :notnice: while we are :rlaugh: and  and :nonono:

I am a recent 2002 GT owner. I came from a line of Honda Civics and then a 2006 Nissan 350Z (RIP). I got to say, after driving Japanese and then American there are perks to the two.

Both the Honda and 350Z are better build and I mean better build as less squeaks and rattles. 350Z had a better conering ability than the Mustang GT any day. Yes, the Japanese are known for squeezing every last drop of horse power out of their V6, nevertheless, Japanese cars are on the weeker side when starting from a complete standstill. I can't deny the fact that at higher RPM, I prefer a 350Z or a Honda over the Mustang.

Mustangs on the other hand, the torque is something not to be mess with. My first impression of the mustang gt was this: Wow! I got thrown back into my seat and attempting to stay within the legal speed limit became of a challenge. The raw power seems to taunt me into going full throttle. This is not something I was able to feel in a Japanese vehicle. Nothing like the raw power of an American muscle car, but the downside is at higher rpm....

Anyhow, not to take sides, but sharing my opinion from my own experience.

I have found the truth!!! lol

I don't despise honda's, I still frequent a honda forum because there are some good looking cars out there. But I feel like all honda's are going the same direction-JDM. Mustangs are just unlimited. None of us want to build the same car as Stark, or Nazty. We want OUR exhaust, we want OUR tail lights, we want OUR front lip, blower setup or rims/tires.

My honda was not anywhere near the same league as my GT. But it was also a 17 year old family car with not but a full exhaust, intake, suspension and gutted. The mustang though, even with only a CF hood/trunk and diablo tune is just fast. and like already mentioned, the torque... OH GOD THE TORQUE!!

oh dear god, please sell your stang and go get another honda.

first of all why not compare the price of a S2000 engine vs the 4.6 2V. the S2000 engine is more expensive. the 4.6L 2V is basically an economy V8. you are comparing a top of the line 4cyl vs the bottom of the line V8. so yes, there will be a hp/l difference. why not compare torque too while you are at it? 302ft/lbs to 153ft/lbs. let's also compare hp and torque to $$. and honda increased the displacement on the S2000 to 2.2L because of the lack of torque. below 6000rpm you are driving a civic. then there is the 87octane vs 91+ octane...

you are comparing apples to oranges.

Oh boy, here we go.

S-2000 = 2-3000 RPM usable power curve. 6k-redline... woot...

Mustang = off idle through redline.

Please lets not get into the whole displacment vs. power argument. Yes, that Honda engine is impressive for peak power, but aside from that its weaksauce. Thats why it is put into a car that weighs nothing and does not need much tourqe to get it moving.

Want to compare apples to apples, but the S2K engine in a Mustang GT, and put the 4.6 in an S2K. Tell me what happens then, lol.

Imports are fun when they are boosted, or when you have a stout N/A engine. I don't dislike imports, but I detest "ricers", and riced out vehicles. There are domestic ricers too though, let us not forget.

So instead of arguing about imports vs. Mustangs, lets stick to the Mustangs since it's what we all down, and previous import owners bought one for a reason...:nice:

Hijack over.

Turbomaxx, great score on the gears and intake and Cobra diff. BTW, nice ride your cuz has, lol.

Bone stock mustangs run S2000s and they are much older. especially the 3v 4.6s, we're comparing our old ass 2000s and 2004s for newer cars. Compare these cars to the 05 mustangs that respond to mods like crazy and come out the factory with 300 HP. Heck, i'm a ford guy till the day i die but i'll admit it GMs are faster..from the factory anyway. Show me a POS import that can beat a bone stock ls1 camaro lol. You'd see me dead before you saw me in an import. I came from that scene, the european scene and its nothing but arrogant trash.
