Hmm yeah probably right. It's a built 76 CJ7, it's just an offroad rock crawlin toy. Just don't have time to play with it anymore and I'd rather sell/ trade it than watch it rust away in my driveway. As far as documents, etc, I'm not sure.. would be something to ask though! Didn't even think about it.

:welcome: to :SNSign:

Looks like a nice car. Any idea which heads it has on it? And what's the Jeep you're trading?

Thanks for the welcome! It's a built 76 CJ7, rock crawlin toy. I know I could get at least 6500 for the jeep.. I'm probably losing a bit through the trade, but I hate selling vehicles, I like trading. Only reason I'm gettin rid of the jeep is cause I don't have the time to play with it anymore, and I'd rather let someone else have fun then watch it go to **** in my driveway. At least the mustang, I can use it daily. As far as the heads? No idea.. will find out.. What kinda heads should I cross my fingers and hope that they are?

Okay, Jeeps are cool but....this is a Mustang forum. There is not a member here that is not going to tell you to TRADE IT. If you want something to play in the dirt with you are in the wrong place. Other than that, welcome to the wonderful world of American horsepower. It is a gool looking car and a good foundation to build on. Even if you don't do anything else to it it's still a pretty good combo. Of course I say buy it. You say the heads are ported and polished but what kind are they? I can't really see putting that much work into a stock set.

I'm not looking to play in the dirt.. that's what I've been doing.. I'm trying to get into something else now. Topping out at 55mph isn't cool, but jeeps don't need to do more than that. I'm not sure what the heads are, thats something I need to figure out. And yeah I realize no one will tell me not to trade, thats not what I'm asking, what I was looking for is it a good build?

The pics arent that great, but it looks ok from what I can tell and the combo sounds good. I assume the heads are stock since he didnt say what kind, and some people do port stock heads. It has a real GT40 intake with the plaque which is a bonus :nice:, both of those havent been made in years.

Check for rust/rot on the front frame rails and around the base of the strut towers, thats the worst place where these cars like to rust out.

Yeah, I spent my time in the dirt too. Used to have a Nissan 4x4. I do miss it but I love my Mustang. You say it's a rock crawler, I've never rode in one but I've always wanted to. The ones I have seen on TV look fun as hell. We don't have many rocks big enough to climb down here. Just sand and mud. Anyway I think you will be happy with the car you are looking at.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm gonna be goin to look at the Mustang tomorrow, sunday, hopefully it all checks out and I'll be bringing it home with me.

and yeah.. rock crawling is fun, and as far as riding in one. If your offroad, it's wonderful, but riding in a rock crawler on the road, SUCKS. It has a 4 spd with granny low. I'm in 3rd from about 25mph-55mph then it pretty much just tops out.

TRADE!

I bought a car that was previously built to. I got a great deal on it....but don't know all the little stuff about the build. I got receipts and stuff for a lot of it, but for example all I have is a cost on the shortblock, no details or specs.

Agreed, offroading is fun, my friend also has a totally custom built CJ but it's only a toy, and is only good for the dirt, not practical to drive everyday and I would get bored of going slow everyday. TRADE

But get some proof thats an Eagle rotating its way to easy lie about having a built bottom end or a stroker, or even certain heads like some people do, but it still looks like a good deal

I'd determine if you want to trade based on overall condition of the car.
The only real desireable thing done to the engine is the gt40 intake.
The rest you will really never know the truth on unless you dissassemble the whole thing.

Looks to be about a $5000 car.

And when you get it, first thing you do is remove all the billet crap on the inside.
