Is it true?

I don't know who said it or which message board I read it on, but for those who have fears of blowing spark plugs (people like me), is it true that we can actually replace the heads with the ones from 2004+ GT model to fix this problem?

The individual whom I cant recall, said the 2004+ GT models have full threads in the aluminum for the spark plugs. How true is this?

Anyone ever gone that route just to fix their blown plugs?

as i recall your heads already have 8 threads for the spark plugs which is the revised version. Plus 2004 was the last year of the 2v so 2004+ would have to be made to fit your car because they are 3v

That is interesting. Why is it that everytime I searched something, there seems to be some inconsistencies?

So the 2002 GTs have revised heads already or is it just some are revised and some are not? Is there a way to tell for sure?

just check the torque on them every oil change and you should have no problems. if it happens then just get a timesert kit and use that. very easy to use and is a very strong fix for this problem. being a mechanic in detroit(aka ford country) i have done a few dozen of these over the years and they work great. just dont worry about it so much and keep up on maintenance and your chances will drop dramatically.

Only 2004 heads or new casting made by Ford for sales come with full threads, it isn't 2004+ - it's 2004 or any PI heads made thereafter.
You don't need to search anymore - that's it.
