Grrrrrrr.... lol. All I can do is shake my head and wish that I'd bought a mkIII Supra Turbo. I was driving my car home today, when some guy pulls up next to me in a civic; sure enough, he pulls away from me, and I'm giving it just about all I've got, so I'm sure he's feeling way too proud of himself. The funny thing is, I haven't even been able to get a race in my car, everyone I've thrown revs at is just too scared; my car is a bright red 89 LX 5.0 5spd with white racing stripes, and has a bassani x-pipe with rear dumps, so its loud as hell (last time I revved it in a parking garage I set off at least 15 car alarms), and it has BBK and Flowmaster stickers etc. all over it (all from the previous owner) with none of these parts actually being on the car. It has a non H.O. 5.0 in it, I think from a crown Vic or something like that, and it's the slowest 5.0 mustang EVER. Seriously, I'd feel as stupid as anyone thats ever changed the muffler on a tercel and added a racing wing, this is almost as bad. Never mind the fact that I bought it that way (for cheap!) . . . and, I guess it does sound really nice, but . . .
I don't even want to drive this damn thing anymore.
Anyways, it'll be a while before I can get a GT-40 intake and heads w/ new valvetrain and upgrade the cam and all that, I know that these motors are similar to 5.0 H.O.s, anyone know anything about them? Like, is there anyway to make more power for like, free? Anyone know anything about converting the crappy EFI to the sequential FI system that's on the HO motors? Information about these motors seems to be hard to find; I've heard that the firing order is different, but supposedly swapping the cam will change this, otherwise as near as I can tell I'll probably gain well over 100 hp with a cheap h/c/i swap because this thing can't be putting out even the what, 180 crank hp thats its supposed to. I don't even think this is a 15 second car.
That Supra's sounding better every day . . .
