Hey guys, after i drive my car for a while i get an air pressure leak out of my cap on the coolant tank... i don't see any rubber seal or anything on the tank or the cap.. should there be one???? or is my cap just bad? figured i'd see what you guys have before i go ordering anything

thanks

There is a rubber gasket on the inside of the cap.

Yes, there is clearly a rubber gasket in my cap as well. Pressing on it with a key leaves a small indentation then it goes back to its original shape. Also, on both of our caps, you could hear the pressure release as you turned the cap.

thanks guys... i do have that on there.... it doesn't leak as bad as it did when i started driving it (the car sat about 4 months before i started driving it).... who knows

around the cap is that crusty looking dried antifreeze... im just afraid the car was overheated and boiled over in the past...

oh well... it's been running like a champ lately anyway.
