How to tell c4 or aod?

So I bought an aod from a friends friend... anyways I get it home and it just doesnt look like an aod to me, but ive never really had any autos... im 99.999 the bellhousing can unbolt isnt that only on c4's? what is the best way for me to find out what I have.

bell housing has RF-D7BP-7976-AA on it

C4 and C5 you can remove bell, AOD you cannot.

the bell and tail look different, and as stated above the bell on the C4 is removable... if it's HUGE it's probably an AOD

If it has a vacuum solenoid anywhere on there, it's not an AOD ... but the easier way to tell, as stated, is whether or not the bellhousing can be unbolted.

What if it's a C6? IIRC, the bellhousing doesn't unbolt from those, either.

Yeah, i've gotten a bunch of that.

I've given up trying to offload it. I just cleared up some space, and squirreled it away wrapped in plastic

Generally the tranny pan has "metric aod" stamped in it in big ol' letters.
