Anyone have Jegs or Summit Cheap racing seats??

well the big thing is.........do you drive the car lots and want to be comfortable doing so? Then these are not the seats for you. I put a pair in for a month and quickly sold them after I bought a set of black recarro style GT seats. They were like sitting on milk crates. The padded cover offers little to no support or comfort. If your car is the occassional cruiser, mostly drag then you'll be good to go.

And you'll need special mustang brackets or mount them to mustang seat tracks with a little fabrication. After I mounted them to the stock seat tracks they were just as heavy as the stock setas, or at least close to it.

Just my two cents.

Appreciate the response!! I figured they are not all that comfortable, which is not a major concern. My car is an occasional cruise/ drag car. I'm mostly interested in weight savings. If they are not going to save me all that much then I might just leave the stockers in (which I actually like) and are in excellent shape.

yeah it depends on what brackets you use. I didn't weigh them but taking them in and out for the track got tiresome. I felt that the weight was close and not really much of a savings. They are certainly a bit lighter but I didn't feel sacrifcing comfort was worth it.

I have two of them in my car from Summit and they are black. I love them and so does everyone who gets in my car. For the price you can't beat them. My step-brother has a set in his 84 Notch too. We both love them. Great seats and no problems at all.

I had them and they looked great. It was a PITA to remove the old seat breackets and install them on the new seats. (lots of mods) The seats were only fractionally lighter and they were fairly comfertable but right at shoulder height the pad just stops and there is a hard plasic piece that dug into my shoulder blades.I had to really recline them so it didnt hurt my back.
I would not get them again, next time I will get Recros :nice:
