edelbrock vs cobra

With the RPM 2 you'll lose some low end torque, but gain some high end horse power.

If you can live with that, then go for it.

A ported Cobra intake can only go so far.

And, if you plan on doing "bigger" things down the road you will need a higher flowing manifold anway.
 
I would say go for the rpm II. while the cobra makes more lower end torque it tends to choke on the higher end as far as horsepower is concerned, especially over 5500rpms. It was sid before but the rpm II would also benefit you more if you decide to go "bigger" in the future.
 
an rpm II is not over kill for his combo...he has decent eddy heads....i went from a performer to a performer rpm and i didint lose any low end torque, i actually gained tq across the power band, but you have to have some good flowing heads, which i think you do....with the rpm II, youll gain more power in the upper end....i was told i would gain more power in the upper rpm's and lose no power in the lows and mids if i would switch to an rpm II from the rpm I.....i would say go for it, and like said before, youll be covered for bigger mods in the future
 
He's got an E303 cam which is done by 5,200rpm, a car that probably weighs 3500lbs and no mention of rear gears so i'd assume the usual 3.73 which is not enough to take advantage of what the rpm II can do. Its a great intake, just not for his car.

The RPMII intake would be a good intake for any combination as long as the runners match up to the heads smoothly.

I've seen people back in the day get good numbers with an e cam at 6000 rpm. 30lb injectors and 2.02 heads though. I think it will shift the power band a little but will be better. Just my $.02
 
I have almost the exact same combo. My car has eddy 2.02 heads, e cam, & an RPMII. Granted its not the best combo, & a regular RPM would make more low end, but I bought the motor that way & I plan on building a 347 soon, so no point on downgrading to a smaller manifold...

BTW, my car made 299.9 rwhp & 320 rwtq & this was with a totally stock fuel system... With a better cam, the power curve would be better, but can't do much with stock pistons & 2.02 valves...
