Is there any ford techs or service techs on this site? Or do any of you know a ford tech or service tech? I bought this escort and i found a piece of paper in it that says it has a factory recall on it for the air bag diagnostic moniter. Does this cause the air bags to go off for no reason?peace

The airbag diagnostic monitor won't cause them to go off unnecessarily, but it may cause them to fail to go off in an accident. What year is the car? They may not even have parts available to perform the recall any longer.

why not just take it in

i am but i ned to get it runnin again,it sat for 4 years and i need to go get and find the rubber filler hose from the filler neck to the tank. the car is a 97. i was asking cause both bags are blown and there is no sign of a serious impact to cause them to go off! and the title isnt branded or salvaged.peace
