Beefed up my upper & lower control arms

I wasn't happy with how weak the replacement LCA's were so I beefed mine up a bit with some 10 ga metal. It's pretty simple if you have access to a welder and a vertical band saw, not to mention inexpensive. Just thought some of you diy'ers would like to check'em out. :nice: Up next is my upper control arms and strut rods.

now all you need to do is convert them to a spherical bearing and screw in ball joints.:D

That's a not a bad Idea, maybe in the future. In the mean time I finished the UAC here's some pics.

I made a custom shaft for it and replaced the stock bushing with double sealed bearings. I think it came out pretty nice.

Nice job. I am glad to see more roller parts going in these cars. It is a fun project and really helps the car ride smoother and handle better. :nice:

I like the bracing under the arm, we put ours on the outside.

Thanks, I can honestly say I've got some of my ideas from your website. If I wasn't on such a tight budget I would've bought a set of your LCA's and track spring perches they are really nice.

Your welcome and thanks for the compliment. I would rather folks made thier own. I like selling parts but I didn't start ORP to make money (I have a good day job). The reasone we sell DIY kits is for that reason. I love working on my own cars. I like it even better when someone askes, "where did you get that"? and I can say, "I made it".
Sharing the 'How-To' is what it's all about IMO.
